Chapter 935
Joe glanced at her. Skylar could tell by the icy glare in his eyes that he knew who was knocking. She felt bad for him.
Her throat closed up as she opened the door. Three people stood behind. One of them was a man who looked to be a few years older than Gloria. He was accompanied by a middle–aged man and a young guy about Skylar’s age
They paused upon seeing Skylar and recalled what Edwin had told them. Joe had heeded Gloria’s advice and married a normal woman, probably the one standing before them.
They looked down on her. Disdain colored their faces upon guessing Skylar’s identity.
“Who are you?” asked Skylar coldly.
“I’m his grand–uncle, Ernest Martin,” said Ernest.
“I’m his uncle, Spencer Martin,” followed Spencer.
Claudio Martin scanned Skylar from head to toe. Then, he said, “I’m Joe’s cousin, Claudio Martin. You’re his wife, right?”
This explained why Joe had gotten married without letting any of his family members know. She was gorgeous. He’d thought Joe was a celibate monk. Claudio hadn’t expected him to like sexy women like her.
Skylar felt uncomfortable under his gaze. As she was about to speak, Joe stated coldly. “You guys adore me enough to come see me in the middle of the night.”
His mocking tone showed them no deference.
“We’re all family. There’s no need to bring this up to the police. If
someone with bad intentions finds out, they’ll write gossip columns about our family affairs. You look fine. Tell the police to let Edwin and Derek out.*
He glared at Joe with dissatisfaction. He’d just gotten stabbed a few times. What was the big deal?
Derek had also been stabbed, but he was sent to the police station and detained right after being stitched up.
“Yeah, Joe. Derek and his sons were in the wrong. However, they’d done so under the influence of alcohol. We talked to them just now and they’re regretting it dearly. Alcohol does that to you. They won’t drink that much anymore. They’re also offering a sincere apology in hopes that you will forgive them,” Spencer explained.
“Right. Joe, you’re not a petty man. You look perfectly alright.” Claudio was rather disappointed. He’d thought Joe would be on the brink of death. It would be best if he was permanently disabled from the stabbing. If it had happened, he would’ve replaced Joe in the Martin Group.
Skylar stood beside them. Anger flared up within her. Were they even human? What did they mean by saying Joe was fine? Those wounds would definitely leave scars. Joe was still extremely weak after excessive blood loss. He’d barely fallen asleep when they’d woken him up.
“He’s got eight to nine stab wounds measuring more than two inches long. Some of them nearly cut into his vital organs. He isn’t fine. You guys are trying to kill him,” Skylar blurted out angrily.

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
