Chapter 966
Natalie stepped outside to take the call. She didn’t want to disturb Hank, Austin, and Skylar at breakfast.
“Jeremy,” she answered.
“I’m in Fachington. I need to see you today.” Jeremy’s voice came through.
Natalie wondered why he was returning to Fachington. He and Helena had just returned a few days earlier.
Natalie glanced back at the three people still eating and said quietly, “I can’t meet you today. Skylar is here in Fachington, and I need to be with her for the next couple of days. If there’s something important; let’s discuss it over the phone.”
Jeremy replied, “We can’t discuss it over the phone. Where are you right now?”
“I’m with Skylar. Jeremy, I think there’s nothing more for us to discuss. The food is getting cold, so I’m going to eat,” Natalie said, ready to end the call.
Jeremy immediately stopped Natalie. “Wait, are you with Austin?”
Natalie confirmed briefly, “Yes.”
Jeremy immediately responded coldly, “I need to see you today, or there will be consequences you won’t expect.”
“Jeremy! What exactly do you want? I’ve said that Skylar is here, and I want to spend the next couple of days with her.
“Why do you insist on seeing me? We should have said everything that needed to be said last time, and there’s no need for more,” Natalie said.
She felt increasingly confused by Jeremy. Their last two meetings had ended on bad terms. There were many things she wanted to clarify, but she couldn’t quite put them into words.
“Moreover, we’ve already divorced, Jeremy.”
Jeremy took a deep breath and said, “I regret it. We shouldn’t have divorced.”
He had said the same thing last time. But as she had mentioned before, there was no remedy for regret. Since they were divorced, they couldn’t be together again.
She had intentionally downplayed their marriage’s impact on her, but that didn’t mean the hurt had disappeared.
Natalie’s eyes welled up. “I’ve already said I wish you and Helena well.”
“Jeremy, there’s nothing more to discuss between us Some things were clearly said at the time of our divorce. I’ve moved on, and you should too. It wouldn’t be fair to Helena otherwise. I need to go now.”
Natalie didn’t give Jeremy a chance to respond and terminated the call. She stood by the door, trying to calm her emotions and not let Jeremy affect her, but she was still impacted.
After a while, she returned to the dining room.
Skylar looked up as Natalie came back. It was clear that Natalie’s mood had changed, and her eyes were
a bit red.
Skylar guessed that the call must have been from Jeremy. If it had been anyone else, Natalie wouldn’t have gone outside to take the call.
Only Jeremy’s calls could cause such a noticeable shift in Natalie’s emotions. Austin’s gaze darkened

The readers' comments on the novel: My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
