Skylar didn’t start packing immediately after returning to the room. There wasn’t much to pack anyway. Her suitcase had only been opened to take out her pajamas and skincare products, so it would be simple enough to just put them back in. 

Natalie looked unwell. After entering, she sat down directly. 

Skylar said, “I’ll stay and keep you company.” 

Natalie shook her head. “If I avoid it this time, there will be another time. Jeremy has returned to Fachington. He must want to have a thorough conversation with me. I don’t want to keep dragging this out. If he has any doubts or thoughts, he should make them clear today.” 

She had thought divorce would be the end of everything, but she hadn’t expected divorce to mean the beginning of something. 

Skylar nodded. Considering Jeremy’s concern for Natalie, he wouldn’t hurt her. Besides, they were at the hotel. 

About ten minutes passed, and Joe called. 

“Wait a few minutes, I’ll be downstairs soon.” 

“No rush.” 

Natalie escorted Skylar downstairs. 

When they met Joe, Natalie couldn’t help but complain, “Mr. Martin, you’ve only been apart from Skye for a day, and you’re already missing her? I was hoping to spend another night with her, but here you are, coming to take her away right away.” 

Joe directly admitted it, his gaze falling on Skylar and not shifting away. “I really do miss her.” 

Natalie was momentarily speechless. She hadn’t expected him to admit it so readily. 

Skylar blushed when she heard his words. Joe’s tone made it hard to tell if he was serious, as his words always carried a mix of truth and humor. If she didn’t know better, she might have believed he couldn’t stand apart from her. 

“I’m heading out. Let’s catch up in the next few days if we have time. Take care of yourself,” Skylar said, turning to Natalie. 

“Don’t worry. I’ll never let myself suffer. It’s already past 10:00 pm. You should go back to the hotel and get some rest with Mr. Martin,” Natalie replied with a wave. 

As Joe’s car disappeared into the distance, Natalie lingered for a moment before heading back inside. 

She glanced at the time. It was getting late, and she wondered if Austin’s event had wrapped up by now. Just as she was about to call Hank for an update, Jeremy appeared before her. 

“Are we going to your room or mine?” he asked. 

Natalie thought for a moment. “Let’s go to my room.” 

They headed toward the elevator. As they were entering, Austin and Hank happened to arrive at the hotel. They saw Natalie and Jeremy getting into the elevator
