This jade pendant was manufactured a week ago.
In other words, it was a replica to fool Willow.
Florence began to get anxious when she saw Willow getting angry. “You’re an adult. How could you believe a kid so easily? Since you believe the jade pendant is a replica, give it back to me!”
Florence snatched the jade pendant from Willow.
Willow suppressed her emotions and asked patiently, “Mrs. Jones, who gave you this jade pendant?”
“I found it in the rain gutter!” Florence insisted, but her expression wavered.
She was lying.
Willow smirked. “Since it’s not my pendant, return the three thousand dollars to me.”
“Why should I do that? It’s a token of appreciation to me!” Florence exclaimed.
Willow was angry but she couldn’t do anything about it. “You don’t have to give the money back to me. I don’t want it. Tell me who gave you this jade pendant.”
“I’ve told you, I found it in the rain gutter!” Florence repeated.
“Granny, my mom can call the police to arrest you. You lied and scammed money from others,” Tristan warned.
“It’s true, you could go to jail if you scammed two thousand dollars and above from others.” Julian nodded.
Willow took out her phone to call the police.
Florence was scared. She hurriedly stopped Willow and said, “Don’t call them. I’ll tell you the truth. It was Samantha who gave me the jade pendant. She said that if I give it to you, you’ll definitely give me some money. My son hasn’t been around for a year. I’m so poor that I couldn’t eat properly. I had no choice but to do what she said for the money.”
It was Samantha!
