Jasper circled around the desk and approached Willow. He used his index finger to lift her chin. His handsome face and masculine aura made her heart race.
"Didn't you say you couldn't take part in any 'extreme' activities?" His husky voice was alarmingly sexy.
Willow's heart thumped, and her eyes widened. "I'm only here to carry out some menial tasks. I certainly cannot do anything too physically challenging…"
Her heartrate increased. Jasper's dangerous and mighty aura nearly consumed her. She felt as if danger loomed around every corner.
Jasper could tell she was nervous from the way her long eyelashes fluttered. It was very charming.
The soft, smooth skin of her hands and the fragrant scent on her made his throat dry.
He lifted her chin higher and moved closer in an attempt to kiss her.
"Mr. Hughes, it's been a long time. Did you miss me?" A joyful voice could be heard by the door.
Willow backed away in surprise. She moved out of the danger zone by standing three feet away from Jasper.
Yelena walked in. She witnessed the scene earlier. Although a look of rage appeared in her eyes, she quickly hid her emotions and put on a smile while she walked toward Jasper. "Mr. Hughes, your grandfather asked me to tell you that there'll be a family gathering tonight. He asked me to go home with you for dinner."
Yelena was about to reach out and hold Jasper's arm when he quickly turned around.
He returned to his seat.
Feeling let down, Yelena's smile froze. However, she did not get angry. She continued to smile in an understanding and gentle manner.
Upon seeing this, Willow nodded slightly and walked quietly out of the office.
Jasper glanced coldly at Yelena. "I won't marry you," he said.
Yelena's smile froze completely. Tears filled her eyes. "Your grandfather said you and I have been engaged since we were children."
