Willow paused. She could hear the sarcasm in his words no matter how slow she was.

Just like Frank, Jasper was looking down on her!

He thought she took advantage of her position to seek personal gain!

Willow felt suffocated and furious.

She suddenly recalled the time when Jasper asked her if the food contest was worth investing in.

When she said it was, Jasper easily signed the contract.

Willow clenched her fists and replied firmly, “Mr. Hughes, Hailey won the contest with her abilities! Everyone witnessed it. She would’ve won even if you hadn’t invested in the contest. She was talented and capable. I didn’t give her any advantage! Also, scum like George is only a stranger to me. I don’t care whether or not he gets a promotion!”

Willow sounded harsh and angry.

She had always been timid and fearful of Jasper, so this was the first time she lashed out at him.

She could tolerate Jasper misunderstanding her, but he crossed the line when he questioned Hailey’s abilities and her victory.

Willow couldn’t stand it anymore.

Taken aback by her outburst, Jasper raised his eyebrows at her.

“You should be aware of whom you’re speaking to,” he snapped.

“I know full well whom I’m speaking to! Mr. Hughes, don’t think you know everything about everyone just because you’re high and mighty. I endured it when you used me to reject the marriage your grandfather arranged for you. However, you can’t say that I used the food contest for my personal gain! I’m tired from standing the whole day so I’ll excuse myself. Please carry on with your work.”

Willow’s chest was pent up with anger. After saying her piece, she turned and left the room.

Jasper was glaring darkly at her.
