His words caught Willow off guard and made her uneasy.
Instead of responding to him, she asked, “Have you treated your wound?”
He was limping back at the hospital and had a cut on his face, but he stubbornly refused treatment.
A few days had passed since, so Willow wondered if he tended to his injuries.
“You’ll know once you meet me,” Xavier answered.
Willow said, “I’m going to bed. If you don’t have anything else to say, I’m hanging up.”
“If you won’t come out, I’ll call Jasper for a duel. The winner gets to be with you. Don’t worry, I’ll put my life on the line for this fight.” Xavier’s voice was low and urgent. He wasn’t being impulsive nor said it as a threat.
He was going to use his life to fight for a chance to be with her.
Willow felt a sharp pain in her chest.
The memory of Xavier driving a car that caught fire was still vivid in her mind. He looked like a madman ready to throw his life away.
Willow was sure that he would do something outrageous that put his life at risk again.
He would even challenge Jasper for her sake.
However, Willow would be the one to suffer no matter the outcome.
Jasper would never let her go.
Willow quickly said, “Xavier, don’t do anything rash.”
“If you don’t want me to do it, come out now. I’m downstairs,” Xavier said.
The downstairs of her house?
He must be at the previous district!
That district was three bus stops away from where she currently lived.
However, Xavier would have done something crazy if Willow didn’t go.
