My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2335

He then whispered back, "Because I've lost her forever and nothing I do can ever get her back."

Ten o'clock that evening,

At the Cowell family home.

Weverly, Rorita's sister, had been waiting for her to come home.

When she noticed that Rorita had come home, Weverly jumped up and asked excitedly, "Rorita! How did it go? Did your first meeting go well? Has he fallen for you?"

Rorita noticed how eager and attentive her sister was. She didn't know what to tell her.

Weverly grew anxious when she noticed that Rorita wasn't saying anything.

She stamped her feet. "Just tell me. Do you want to be his wife?!"

Rorita nodded. "He gave me a week to think about it... if I want to up his offer or not."

The president was willing.

But-

Thinking back on what he told her, she felt bitter in

her heart.

Weverly on the other hand, was elated.

She was very happy for her sister.

No one, not even her parents knew about this. Only her sister Weverly, knew how big of a crush she had for Tremaine.

Rorita is twenty years old now. But back during her fourteenth birthday, Tremaine came as a guest. She was completely entranced by him as he was the most handsome man there.

Among all the other guests, Tremaine stood out as the most dazzling one.

Even Weverly, who was married, couldn't help looking at him.

But, Weverly was married after all. All she commented on was his good looks and nothing more.

She did notice her younger sister staring intently at him.

The following day, she found a picture of Tremaine in Rorita's drawer.

Now, Rorita was being introduced to him with the intention of marrying him. Weverly was very happy for her.

She knew how much her sister adored Tremaine.

They had just met and he was already interested in marrying Rorita! Of course she would be happy for her.

Weverly took Rorita's hand and said, "Sister, your dream has come true!"

Rorita was stunned.

Weverly smiled as she looked into Rorita's conflicted eyes.

She then said, "You know Rorita, if it weren't for the fact that I know how much you adore the president, I wouldn't have agreed to your meeting tonight. I remember how you were when you were fourteen, Natalie remembers too."

Rorita blushed at this.

Feeling embarrased, she then asked shyly, "Sister, how did you know..."

Weverly said while smiling, "I'm your sister. Of course I know you well. Mom told me that tonight's meeting had been specially arranged for you. I'm very happy for you. I hope the president likes you."

"Since he is willing to marry you, I'm sure he does! Rorita, your dream has come true!"

She sounded excited as Weverly said this. She held Rorita's hands and said, "I never expected things to go so smoothly! The president must have fallen for you at first sight! You're so lucky!"

Rorita's eyes rippled with emotion.

She remembered what Tremaine had told her.

Lucky?

Rorita's eyes were wide open in shock.

She didn't expect to be told such a story.

The president almost married a commoner.

All of Nashaland was against their marriage, but the president managed to keep them under control.

The president was clearly a man who valued love and justice!

But then...

Why did he break up with that woman?

Why was he now looking for another woman to be his wife?

He still loved that commoner woman, didn't he?

Otherwise, he wouldn't have told her all of this.

He told her that he already had a woman in his heart, one that he would never forget. He must be referring to the same woman.

Rorita looked at Weverly, confused.

Both sisters were thinking the same thing.

Even though Rorita hadn't said a word, Weverly knew what was on her mind.

She sighed faintly and said, "Rorita, when I first heard that he wanted to meet with you tonight, I had assumed that he had already forgotten about that woman, so I didn't tell you about her. But now that he told you about her, it proves that he hasn't forgotten her."

"As for why they aren't together. There are a whole myriad of reasons as to why. It's well known that many people were against them getting married. It's possible that they broke up because of that."

Rorita bit her lip and said, "Sister, I don't think so. The president told me that whole crowds of people had taken to the street in protest against their marriage, but yet he managed to convince everyone."

"The president is such a brave man. He wouldn't have given up over anything to be with her. It must have been something else."
