Weverly continued, "Rorita, regardless of his response. He has made it clear that he can never be with that woman ever again. However, the president approves of you and has made his intentions very clear. Now, it's your decision. Do you want to marry him?"
"Are you willing to stay with the president even though he is in love with another woman?"
Rorita bit down hard on her lips.
She was feeling extremely conflicted.
It was just as her sister had said, ever since she was fourteen, she had deep feelings for the president.
In all those years, she had never once forgotten about the president.
The man she had caught a glimpse of all those years ago.
Many boys had sought after her when she was in college.
But she never accepted any of them.
She was already in love with the most outstanding man in the world. She wasn't going to fall for any other man.
"Now, the president has requested to see you in person with the express intention of making you his wife. We're all so happy for you."
She nervously went to meet the president. Her heart was beating rapidly like a rabbits.
After all these years, he was still the same man!
He was still handsome and extremely charming!
When he had asked her to get back to him with a reply, she was very happy! She believed that he had taken a fancy to her and wanted to marry her!
But then...
But then he told her those things.
This made her realize that he didn't actually love her. He was just looking for a first lady for the country and he thought that she was a suitable candidate.
She was just a tool to him.
Would she be happy, knowing she was just a tool?
Rorita was very confused.
She had never been in love and she longed to be in a loving relationship.
If the president didn't love her, yet if she chose to marry him, that would mean that she would never be in a loving relationship for the rest of her life.
But could any other man give her the love she
wanted?
That might never happen.
Because the only man she ever cared about was the president.
Even if he chose to keep another woman in his heart, even if he would never love her, she would love him.
Because no other man could ever make her feel the same way the president does.
He was the most outstanding and impressive man in the entire world!
Rorita's heart was in utter chaos.
She looked at Weverly, very confused, "Sister, I have no idea what to say to him. I hoped to find someone who would love me and I would love them too, but the president clearly doesn't love me. He also said that he would never love me at all."
Weverly's heart ached as she saw how conflicted Rorita was.
This was supposed to be a good thing! She hadn't expected the president to have told her such things!
The joy from earlier was now long gone.
Weverly knew that if Rorita married the president it would be a win-win situation.
It would be beneficial to both the president and the Cowell family.
Especially for the Cowell family. Once Rorita married the president, the Cowell family would become the highlight of the entire country.
But for Weverly, Rorita's happiness was more important than anything else in this world.
No matter how wonderful the dream was, the reality was that Yesseca was never ever going to forgive him.
And...
He was the president of Nashaland.
He carried the fate of the entire country on his shoulders.
He couldn't falter.
After Tremaine had left, Madam Quartley couldn't wait to share the good news with someone.
The person she went to was Yuliana, of course.
Yuliana was equally surprised at how agreeable Tremaine was to the whole arrangement. She never expected him to be like this.
She then blurted out, "It's not because their surname is Cowell is it?"
Madam Quartley was quiet.
She smiled then glared at Yuliana, "Oh come now Yuliana. Even though they share the same surname, the gap between them was much too wide. Tremaine marrying the youngest daughter of the Cowell family is the best thing for him as the president."
Then Madam Quartley sighed and said, "It's a good thing he managed to break out of his depression. I had feared we had lost him."
Madam Quartley related the fact that Tremaine was willing to marry Rorita meant that he had overcome his depression.
"This is very different." Yuliana added, "The difference between Yesseca and the daughter of the Cowell family is like comparing the sky to the earth. Yesseca can't hold a candle in comparison." "Tremaine said that he was waiting for her reply. There's no way she would refuse him! This is a done deal."
"Madam Quartley, you shouldn't say that out loud. I fear that Tremaine might rebel against it if he heard you." But Madam Quartley remained confident.
Madam Quartley wasn't worried at all.
She then said, "Tremaine is a man of his word. If he says it, then he definitely means it. The daughter of the Cowell family is sure to agree to this! We will then have a wedding very soon. Things will be lively here once again!"
Yuliana didn't respond to her. Her mind was racing.
Madam Quartley then reminded her, "Yuliana, Rorita is nothing like Yesseca. So when joins us here in the Quartley Palace, you are not cause any trouble or conflict with her."
