Montez said that he had changed. Indeed, he had changed.
Ever since Yesseca left, he had become someone completely different.
After he woke up from his stupor, he had changed even more.
He couldn't figure out what kind of person he had become.
Just as Tremaine was lost in his thoughts, Montez suddenly said, "Dad, you've actually become a lot nicer now. You used to be so angry and domineering all the time. But now you're really nice."
Tremaine held his breath.
Had he always been angry and domineering before?
Montez was his own son and he said this. Yesseca had said the same thing to him.
But he didn't take them seriously at the time.
He thought that he had been very loving to them. He never realized that in their point of view, he had been harsh and angry.
No wonder Montez wanted to get away from him.
No wonder Yesseca left him.
Because he deserved it!
He was the one paying the price for this!
Tremaine laughed out loud.
His smile was a very bleak one. He then bent down and embraced Montez, "Montez, I promise I won't be harsh at you ever again. So please, don't leave me."
Yesseca had already left him. He couldn't let Montez leave him either.
This was the first time Montez had ever seen his father look sad. He felt his heart ache.
Montez brought his hands over to Tremaine's eyebrows and smoothened them out. He was trying to help him feel better by doing this. He then said, "Don't worry dad. I won't leave you. I will always be with you dad."
Tremaine clutched Montez tightly as Montez rested his head on his shoulders.
Some distance away, Yuliana happened to see this father-son moment of theirs.
She immediately called Madam Quartley.
Madam Quartley was very happy to see the two of them like this. "The bond between the two of them as father and son has strengthened. They even hugged each other tonight."
Yuliana didn't care that Madam Quartley had already gone to bed. She insisted for her to get up just to see this moment. Just then Yuliana said, "Madam Quartley, you remember when Yesseca was here, things between Tremaine and Montez weren't good at all. The two of them often quarreled."
Yuliana was taking this opportunity to bad mouth Yesseca to Madam Quartley.
Rorita was going to marry Tremaine after all, but she couldn't be too careful!
She knew just how much Tremaine loved Yesseca. She was worried that he might eventually make peace with Yesseca someday, which would then reveal the fact that Yuliana had forced Yesseca away when she had come back to Nashaland the other time. Tremaine would never forgive her if he found out.
That was why Yuliana took this chance to bad mouth Yesseca.
Madam Quartley was easily convinced by Yuliana.
Tremaine's relationship with Montez had never been this good when Yesseca was in the Quartley Palace!
Both the father and son saw each other as bitter enemies, they constantly argued!
This was the first time they had ever hugged each other.
"It as I've said Madam Quartley. Yesseca had gotten between the two of them all this time." Yuliana continued, "I've always known that Yesseca had purposefully driven a wedge between them. She did it for her own personal gain."
"Since Tremaine was so madly in love with her, he obviously fell for it and ended souring his relationship with his own son. Now that she's gone, things between them will improve."
Madam Quartley felt that Yesseca was making a lot of sense.
She then said, "Looks like Yesseca really has been up to no good while she was here. I hadn't just misunderstood her at all."
"That's right!" Yuliana added, "She's not a good person at all. I've always known it all along. Madam Quartley, you weren't aware of this because Tremaine was always defending her, but now you can see it for yourself."
Madam Quarltey grew furious at the thought of this.
Her face fell. "Enough. Don't ever mention that horrible woman ever again!"
