My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2357

Tremaine got up.

His expression turned cold.

He turned on the light.

The bedroom lit up.

Rorita subconsciously sat up from the bed with a blank expression on her face.

She had only wanted to talk about the painting with him, and she didn't mean anything. She didn't expect him to react like this.

"Who told you about the painting?!" he questioned her.

"I... I saw it by accident while cleaning," Rorita stammered and explained.

Tremaine did not believe it and his eyes became sharper.

It was the first time she had seen such a deathly gaze from him, which made her uneasy.

This strong aura made her unable to say a word or breathe.

"What on earth do you want?" Tremaine said coldly, "Are you going to tell Madam Quartley?"

Rorita pinched her thigh.

The pain took away the pressure that was killing her.

She finally could speak, "I will not tell Madam Quartley or anyone. I heard from the servants that it was in your old room. I didn't know that no one was allowed to enter. I know you don't want anyone to see the painting so I'll keep it a secret."

"I... I didn't do it on purpose. It was by accident that I entered your room."

Tremaine didn't say anything. He still looked at Rorita with vigilance.

She took a deep breath and said, "I just wanted to tell you it's a gorgeous painting. The girl in it is pretty too. I think she must be a kind girl... or you would not have loved her."

He paused.

Perhaps it was because of Rorita's praise for Yesseca that Tremaine's expression softened a little.

He whispered, "She is beautiful, isn't she? She is also smart and kind."

"Why did you separate from her then?" Rorita plucked up the courage to ask.

Tremaine glanced at her sharply again. "It has nothing to do with you!"

After saying that, he turned off the light and lay down on the sofa again.

Before closing his eyes, he warned, "If you want to keep your current position and your family's honor, you'd better talk less!"

Rorita bit her lip as pain flashed through her heart.

Did he think that she married him for her glory and the glory of her family?

He was wrong.

She married him because she liked him.

But she couldn't say it out loud.

He wouldn't believe her anyway.

After all, who would believe that she fell in love with him at first sight while she was a teen?

No one would believe it.

Sometimes, she didn't even believe it either.

A glimpse of him was all it took to make her fall for him.

Rorita had never thought of marrying Tremaine until they met again.

Her heart could no longer remain calm.

In Agaphen City, the annual spring festival was coming.

It was a tradition in Agaphen City.

It was held on April 12th every year.

That night, the whole city would be decorated in lights and the city mayor would celebrate it with everyone.

But it was different this year.
