Ruth called out to Yesseca who was standing in a corner.
"Let me have a taste then," Yesseca said with a grin. "I want to see how your skills are." She then plucked up a croissant from the tray and put it into her mouth.
A strong buttery flavor soon filled her whole mouth.
When Yesseca lightly bit down on it, she found that it was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What an incredible taste!
After she swallowed down the croissant, Yesseca gave a thumbs- up, "Ruth, that was absolutely delicious!"
When she heard the compliment, a glint of pleasure shone briefly within her eyes.
Although it was faint and it only appeared for a moment, Yesseca still managed to catch sight of it.
Therefore she added, "Ruth, I think you're quite proficient in making pastries now. How about this, next time take the pastries that you've made and sell them."
Ruth was full of trepidation after she heard this.
"Can my bread really be sold?" She asked uneasily. "I think I better not, I've only had a week's training after all."
"Of course it's possible." Yesseca reassured with utmost certainty. "Although you've been at this for a week, your skills are already pretty good. It's decided then, tomorrow your croissants will go onto our shelves!"
That night, Ruth looked as if she didn't turn in for bed at all.
She was busy preparing croissants that were to be on sale the next day.
When Preslie discovered that Ruth was still awake, she specially went to look for Yesseca to let her tell Ruth to go to bed, only to be refused.
Preslie could not comprehend this and exclaimed, "Yesseca, you're putting value over money instead of a friend's life! How could you let her bake bread for the whole night?"
This made Yesseca shake her head with a smile on her lips, "Baking overnight won't kill her. What's more, keeping herself busy is a good thing as far as she's concerned, just so she could forget the pain in her heart."
Afraid that she might not understand it still, Yesseca continued, "Preslie, trust me on this. I've been through this before, I know it more than you do. You can rest assured that it will be alright."
Preslie had nothing to say after that.
