Tremaine felt bad for reacting the way he did.
He explained, "She's the woman I'll never forget. But I am well aware that you are my wife now."
This was his promise to Rorita.
He loved Yesseca deeply, but he was also married to Rorita. Even though she was only a puppet wife to him, he wasn't going to disrespect her or their marriage.
That was his solemn vow.
Rorita was shocked at this. When she looked up she happened to meet Tremaine's eyes.
His eyes were a deep pitch black, like a whirlpool in the darkest depths of the ocean. She felt like she was going to get sucked into them the more she stared into them.
"Mr. Tremaine, I'm actually quite jealous of you. At least you've been in love with someone who actually loved you back."
Unlike her.
Although she was his legal wife, he didn't love her at all.
How she wished that he would though.
Even if it were only for a day, she would be content.
But she knew that it was impossible.
Yesseca would forever remain in Tremaine's heart.
He only had room for one person, and only one person. No one else.
Tremaine chuckled bitterly.
He shook his head and said, "No, in fact I wish I had never fallen in her love at all."
If he never fell in love with Yesseca, he wouldn't suffer so much pain all day and night.
He would have to live with the pain for the rest of his life. He could never escape from it.
Tremaine stood up. "I'll be heading to the office now."
He realized that he had been quite talkative this morning.
