Chapter 129
After hanging up, Bradley glanced at Billy and swiftly walked out of the winter garden.
Billy caught up with Bradley and pleaded, filled with sorrow, “Mr. Warner, I beg you! Please, don’t hurt my daughter. Her biggest dream is to marry you! I…”
Bradley swept his cold gaze and stated indifferently, “Women in this world who want to marry me can form a line from Earth to the moon.”
Billy fell silent.
Meanwhile, as Bradley and Billy were on the way to the hospital, Leah reached out and adjusted the blanket on Liliane, who was lying on the hospital bed. Waves of heartache surged deep in her eyes.
Liliane’s condition had worsened again. Regardless, Leah would never allow anyone to harm. her daughter. Her daughter’s wish was to marry Bradley, so she would make it come true no matter how many schemes and plots it took. And then there was Esther’s heart…
If… only if…
If Esther’s heart was a match for Liliane, Leah would be willing to do anything-even if it meant digging Esther’s heart out for her daughter.
“Mom, will he come?” asked Liliane.
Leah replied gently, “He’ll definitely come.”
Leah had the idea of pressuring Bradley into marrying her daughter using public opinion if he didn’t want to do it willingly. She was determined to continue until Bradley agreed to marry Liliane.
Half an hour later, Bradley and Billy arrived at the hospital. Inside the ward, Liliane’s mental state was extremely poor.
Billy looked at her with deep concern and asked, “Liliane, are you okay?”
Leah walked to Billy’s side, took his arm, and angrily exclaimed, “Can’t you choose your words!?”
Bradley glanced at Liliane and asked softly, “What did the doctor say?”
“Let me take you to meet Liliane’s attending physician.” Leah almost forcefully brought Billy along to Wilson’s office.
Leah said, “Dr. Birch, this is Bradley Warner, my daughter’s fiancé. Could you please explain Liliane’s condition to him in detail?”
After the three of them were seated, Wilson began slowly explaining the condition that had been prearranged with Leah.
“Mr. Warner, Liliane’s condition is extremely rare. It’s caused by childbirth complications, leading to a heart problem. Initially, it was a minor issue, but due to the recurrent nature of the condition, she has now reached the stage where she needs a heart transplant. Given her current condition, if we cannot find a suitable heart for transplantation, she may have only three months to live.”
Upon hearing Wilson’s words, Billy became even more confused. Was Liliane not born with a heart condition? How did it become a result of childbirth?
Afraid that Billy, a strong but simple-minded man, would ruin her plans, Leah forcefully pinched the inside of his arm. Billy instinctively turned his head to look at Leah, only to meet her compelling gaze, urging him to agree with Wilson’s statement.
