My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 408

Chapter 408

They started preparing supper then. Making ravioli was not complicated, and Esther was quite skilled at it. She mixed the dough and set it aside to rest before starting to prepare the filling.

Esther planned to make both meat and shrimp fillings for supper, but she didn’t intend to make too many.

“Jacob, come and help me.” Esther handed the minced meat filling to Jacob and said gently, I’ve already added the seasonings to the filling. Just stir it vigorously in a clockwise direction.”

“Okay.” Jacob had never done housework before and did not even know how to stir the mixture properly.

Esther had to stand behind him and patiently taught him how to mix the filling holding his hand.

“Alright, I got it.”

After mixing the filling, Esther taught Jacob how to roll out the dough and close the ravioli.

Esther did not know how wealthy families like Jacob’s usually interacted, but she did things like this when she was with Felix.

Tonight, Jacob experienced many firsts-his first time going to the mini market and his first time making ravioli.

Esther cooked the ravioli and placed two bowls in front of Jacob. “Jacob, I put a coin in some of these ravioli when I was closing them. Let’s see who’s lucky enough to eat the ravioli with the coin.”

Jacob silently picked up his cutlery and tasted the shrimp and meat ravioli in his bowl. The ordinary meal felt like an extraordinary delicacy to him, perhaps because it was the first time. he had personally made it.

Jacob only found the coin when he ate the last raviolo.

Esther’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Wow! You found the coin! That’s great! You can make a wish with this coin now, and I’ll fulfill it.”

Jacob looked at the coin on the napkin and then at the bowl. He had noticed that Esther had made subtle markings on the ravioli to indicate which one had the coin rather obviously.

“I want to hear a bedtime story,” he said.

Esther hesitated momentarily and said softly, “I’ll tell my son bedtime stories anyway. This doesn’t count, so you can make another wish.”

After a long pause, Jacob said, “I’ll tell you when I think of it.”

“Okay.”
