Esther rubbed her eyes, carefully examining the woman in the photo to confirm if it was real. After a minute, she placed the photo back inside the book, stood up, and quietly switched off the reading lamp before leaving the room. 

Outside, she finally released the suffocating feeling caused by the woman in the photo. Glancing at the closed door, she hurried back to her own bedroom. 

Felix had a video call waiting for her, probably worried about not seeing her. 

Esther quickly returned the video call, contacting Felix on his watch phone. 

“Mommy!” Felix’s cute voice greeted Esther’s ears. 

“Felix, Mommy has some things to take care of these days and might not be able to be by your side. You must listen to Anna, okay?” 

Felix patted his chest proudly and replied, “Mommy, I’m super good and obedient!” 

“You’re amazing!” A wash of heartache flashed in Esther’s beautiful eyes. “Felix, Mommy loves you.” 

Felix responded to the microphone with a loud kiss. “I love you too, Mommy.” 

Seeing that it was getting late, Esther did not talk much to Felix and just reminded him, Felix, be good when I’m not around. Go to bed and sleep well, eat well, and- 

“Mommy, I know. You must take care of yourself, too.” 

“Good night, son.” 

“Good night, Mommy.” 

After ending the call with Felix, Esther hesitated for a moment and decided to call Xara. No one answered. Seeing the time, Esther figured Xara might be busy with work, so she did not try calling again. 

Esther could not fall asleep, her mind still preoccupied with the photo that had fallen from the book. It made her heart pound in the dark night. 

Sleep eluded Esther as numerous questions lingered in her mind. To distract herself, she decided to browse the social media platform. 

Tanya had not informed her about the date of her divorce case with Bradley. 

After Bradley released that damaging video, Esther became the target of scorn for countless netizens. Despite experts trying to find flaws in the video frame by frame due to Jasper’s extravagant reward, they had been unsuccessful.
