Chapter 413
Jacob held his phone, listening quietly to the person on the other side. After a long while, he hung up and turned to Esther. “Please wait for a moment. I need to meet someone.”
“Sure.”
Jacob’s slender silhouette, dressed in a white shirt, appeared heart-wrenchingly frail to Esther. She couldn’t help but think that Jacob’s mother must be unaware of his illness. Otherwise, she would rush back to her child’s side, no matter the obstacles.
After leaving the DNA analysis center, Jacob got into a Rolls-Royce Phantom parked by the roadside. While the car looked like a standard Rolls-Royce from the outside, its interior had. undergone complete modifications to enhance safety. Ordinary bullets were no match for its armored protection.
“Father.”
Steffan Sanderson, a casually dressed man in his 30s, adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses while observing his son, who had been frail since childhood.
“Jacob, do you know why I sent you to the church hospital?”
Jacob sat beside his father, their interaction laced with an estrangement that others couldn’t comprehend.
“I know,” Jacob replied.
Steffan smirked coldly. “If you know, why choose to meddle?”
“Being alive. It’s meaningless,” Jacob stated.
Steffan responded with a cold laugh. “Jacob, you’ve cut off your last lifeline. I hope you won’t regret it.”
“I won’t.”
Steffan then shared a location with Jacob, saying, “This is where the little girl is.”
Father.”
Jacob checked the location on his phone, expressing cold gratitude, “Thank you, Observing Jacob’s indifferent demeanor, Steffan sighed. “Jacob, let’s go find your mother…”
“And then have another child like me?”
Jacob gripped his phone, his knuckles turning white from the force. His expression filled with disgust, he muttered, “If I had a choice, I would rather have never come into this world.”
He then pushed open the car door and strode away.
Steffan watched Jacob’s retreating figure for a good half-minute before averting his looked as lonely as a lone wolf.
“Notify the others. Ensure Jacob’s safety at all times,” Steffan commanded.
“Yes.”

Jacob rejoined Esther and the others, his pale lips moving slightly as he uttered, “I’ve found Pixie.”
Esther’s eyes lit up with surprise. “Really?”
“Really! If we move fast enough, we can stop the surgery,” Jacob said.
Esther became even more anxious upon hearing that. “Quickly, let’s
go now.”
