Chapter 458
Felix looked at the tear-stricken Esther and comforted her. “Mommy, I’m really not in pain.”
Esther’s tears fell into the crimson pool of blood. She gently touched Felix’s face, her heart sinking into an abyss of despair. She had anticipated all of Bradley’s actions, but she had not expected Felix to resist him by jumping out of the car.
“Felix, I’m sorry. It’s all Mommy’s fault.”
Felix let out a pained grunt and said, “Mommy, it’s not your fault. I’m really happy to be your son.”
Esther cradled Felix’s small face in anguish, unable to scold him for his boldness. “Felix, what’s the one thing you really want to do right now?”
Esther was afraid that Felix might fall asleep, so she had to ensure his consciousness remained clear until the ambulance arrived.
Felix innocently said, “I want to wipe away Mommy’s tears.”
He wanted to lift his hand, but the pain was too much. He could not even lift it.
Esther wiped away her tears hurriedly, saying, “Mommy wiped away her tears herself.”
The security guards and bodyguards also wiped their tears, witnessing how sensible Felix was.
One of the security guards consoled, “Ms. Quill, the car wasn’t moving very fast just now. Mr. Felix will be fine.”
Indeed, the car had not been moving very fast. Bradley had intentionally kept the speed slow to savor Esther’s despaired expression.
The car engine’s noise had masked Felix jumping out. Only when Bradley’s car exited the parking garage and passed the ambulance at the intersection did he notice Felix missing from the back seat.
Disregarding traffic rules, Bradley swiftly executed a U-turn and headed straight back to Primus Mansion.
With the guidance of the security staff, the ambulance smoothly entered the parking garage of Primus Mansion.
“Doctor, please, save my son!”
“Please remain calm.”
After examining Felix’s condition, the paramedics professionally moved him onto the ambulance. Esther got into the ambulance immediately while the bodyguards followed in another car.
As the ambulance left Primus Mansion’s parking garage, Bradley’s car entered once again.
From afar, Bradley spotted the security guards huddled around a pool of blood. He hit the brake and rushed to the bloodied area. His heart clenched as he asked urgently, “What happened?”
The security guards, all men, had seen Bradley’s treatment of Esther earlier. Despite not having his wealth, they knew the value of respecting and caring for wives and children.
“Mr. Warner, this is your son’s blood!”
