My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 479

Chapter 479

Felix’s move from the ICU to the regular ward had reached Bradley through Kevin. However, Felix wasn’t in a hospital owned by the Warner Group.

Meanwhile, Oliver’s bodyguards were guarding the hospital, yet Bradley, caring for Felix, didn’t insist on entering. Instead, he thought about discussing with Esther the chance to visit Felix.

What surprised Bradley was that, despite changing six phones to reach Esther, she still avoided any communication. As such, he sat in the hospital garden, looking sad as he watched the ward’s faint light. He knew Felix was awake. He just wanted to see Felix. But Esther wouldn’t allow it. She remained as cold as always.

Bradley sat on a bench, focused on his tablet for business matters.

Today, Clark also learned about Felix’s accident. He brought fruits Felix liked and approached Bradley.

“Sir, I want to go upstairs and see Felix.”

“She won’t let you.”

His handsome face showed some coldness. He remembered the recent briefing from the legal team. Felix’s accident happened in his car, a disadvantage in the custody battle. They warned him that the opposing lawyer might use it against him in court.

Felix carried the Warner name, a future inheritor of the Warner Group. Esther’s hope to get Felix’s custody? Bradley saw it as an unrealistic idea.

“I want to try,” Clark said.

Bradley’s response was distant as he kept working. “Do as you wish.”

Clark sighed. After telling the security, he was taken to the ward with Esther’s approval.

“Grandpaw Clark,” Felix called out.

Clark softened, looking at the bandaged boy. He asked with concern, “Felix, does it hurt?”

“It doesn’t hurt, Grandpaw Clark. I’m a little man, and I have to look after Mommy.”

A faint touch of emotion tinged Clark’s eyes as he murmured, “Felix, you’re such a good boy.”

After sharing a brief conversation with Felix, Clark turned his attention to Esther. “Esther, can we talk?”

Esther and Clark stepped out onto the balcony.

Observing Bradley seated on the garden bench, Clark heaved a heartfelt sigh. “Esther, if Mr. Thomas were here, he wouldn’t wish to see you two like this.”

“Clark, if you’re here to plead for Bradley, don’t bother,” Esther replied, her tone carrying a frigid resolve.

“Bradley might believe I’m responsible for Grandpa Thomas’ death, and he might take revenge on me. He can seek retribution against me all he wants, but what has my child done to deserve this? What right does he have to secretly abduct my child? What right does he have to
