Esther replied with surprise. “Clark, what do you need?” 

“Let me stay with Felix,” Clark said, his face showing bitterness. “Mr. Thomas meant a lot to me. He was overjoyed about your pregnancy. His biggest regret before he passed was not being there for Felix’s birth. I’d like to be with Felix for a while until you find your daughter. After that, I’ll leave. Is that okay?” 

“Sure,” Esther agreed. 

Clark smiled in relief. “Thank you.”
