Jasper drove Esther to a picturesque nursing home just outside the capital. This nursing home was set against serene lakes and rolling mountains, almost like a hidden paradise. 

After parking their car in the nursing home’s lot, they hopped on a shuttle that took them to a charming 

villa. 

Mandy opened the door to the villa. 

Jasper, always considerate, had brought some health supplements as gifts. 

“Mandy, are these your friends?” A frail woman in a wheelchair slowly approached from the living room. 

Esther glanced at Mandy’s mother, Liora Pascal, and marveled at how beautiful she must have been in her youth, even in her twilight years. 

“Mom, my friends have come to visit you,” Mandy said, smiling warmly at Esther and Jasper. “This is Jasper, and this is Esther.” 

Jasper and Esther greeted the woman in the wheelchair with kindness. 

“Hello, ma’am.” 

Liora was visibly touched “This is the first time Mandy has brought friends to see me. Please, have a seat. Let me make you some tea” 

“No need to get up. Mom. I’ll take care of it,” Mandy interjected softly, her hands on Liora’s wheelchair. She then went to the kitchen to prepare tea for Esther and Jasper. 

While observing them, Liora’s eyes radiated warmth and invitation. “If Mandy brought you here, you must be her closest friends” 

Esther felt a pang of guilt. She wasn’t really Mandy’s close friend-she was there to persuade Mandy to donate her liver to Bradley 

“Your daughter is a wonderful person, Jasper said, unfazed. 

“I feel like I’ve burdened her.” Liora replied, her voice tinged with sadness. 

“You’re her most important person. You’re her rock, her source of strength,” Jasper reassured her, his tone. comforting 

Mandy returned with a tray laden with tea and snacks. “Mom, they’re really good friends of mine.” 

Liora’s expression softened as she held her daughter’s hand. “Mandy, with friends like these, I have only one lingering regret.” 

Mandy’s expression tightened, her voice tinged with frustration. “Mom, if you’re talking about marriage. again, just drop it. I have no plans to marry.” 

“You can’t let me be the reason for- 

Liora tried to continue, but Mandy promptly interrupted her.
