Chapter 608
Jasper reached out to Chadwick and headed with Esther to the upscale club where Chadwick was.
When Mandy was with Chadwick earlier, he was still sober. At present, however, he was in a carefree mood. He was clad in a bathrobe and reclined on the sofa, surrounded by a dozen attractive young
women.
“Esther, have you made your decision?” he asked.
Esther took a deep breath, striving to conceal her revulsion and anger. She replied with evident difficulty,” I promise, but you-”
Chadwick playfully grasped the chin of a young woman, offering her a drink.
“Esther, you’re the one in need of a favor from me!” Chadwick-taunted Esther, his demeanor arrogant. “If you’re seeking someone’s assistance, you ought to do it correctly.”
To secure Bradley’s well-being, Esther suppressed her vexation and reluctance. She knelt before
Chadwick and humbly implored, “Please… Please help Bradley.”
Chadwick sneered. “Well, that’s more like begging now! I’ll arrange for Mandy to donate her liver to Bradley tomorrow. But henceforth, you won’t be allowed to see him!”
Esther’s voice trembled as she said, “I want to witness them entering the operating room.”
“I’ll have the surgery live-streamed for you,” Chadwick assured her.
Chadwick brushed aside the women he had recently been intimate with, approached Esther, and helped her get up from the floor.
“Everyone, allow me to introduce you. This is Esther, my future wife.”
A chorus of greetings ensued in response.
“Hello, Mrs. Pendleton!”
“Hello, Mrs. Pendleton!”
Most of them were aware of the complicated relationship dynamics between Esther, Bradley, and Chadwick. Naturally, they eagerly wanted to curry favor with Chadwick and cheered.
When these people sarcastically addressed her as Mrs. Pendleton, Esther felt nauseated.
“Mr. Pendleton, Esther’s health isn’t at its best, and she shouldn’t stay up late. I recommend she goes to the hospital-”
Chadwick looked at Jasper and sneered. “Oh, Mr. Searle, you son of a-”
“He’s my friend!” Esther interjected resolutely. Jasper was her friend, and she couldn’t permit Chadwick to speak of him disrespectfully.
Chadwick shrugged nonchalantly. “Certainly, she should rest and recuperate at the hospital for a while. Otherwise, how will she manage to give birth to a dozen children for me?”
One young lady jeered at Chadwick’s remark. “Mr. Pendleton, only sows give birth to so many-”
Chadwick was unhappy and slapped her.
“Who are you to criticize my future wife?” Chadwick’s icy gaze swept over the assembled group. “I don’t know what you’re all thinking, but now that Esther has agreed to marry me, she belongs to me. Only I can. mock and ridicule her, not you! Get lost!”
