Chapter 609
Upon hearing Jasper’s words, surprise and confusion appeared on Esther’s face.
“Now?” Esther asked.
Jasper patiently explained, “Yes, now. Do you think Bradley would agree to the surgery if he knew Mandy’s liver was offered as a condition for saving you?”
Esther realized the gravity of Jasper’s words.
“So, we need to do the surgery while Bradley is still unconscious?” she asked.
“Yes,” Jasper confirmed.
Esther said, “I’ll leave it to you, Jasper.”
“Don’t worry, Esther. I’ll take care of Bradley. As for Chadwick, you don’t need to worry about him either. When the time is right, we’ll…”
Jasper didn’t finish his sentence, but Esther understood. “Alright.”
With Esther present, Jasper called Kevin and explained Bradley’s situation over the phone, withholding no information.
After listening to Jasper’s explanation, Kevin panicked and shouted, “Jasper! Are you out of your mind? You actually agreed to Chadwick’s threat.”
A hint of anger crossed Jasper’s face. “Kevin, if you have a better solution, please suggest it.”
Esther couldn’t bear Kevin misunderstanding Jasper and clarified, “Kevin, I did this willingly.”
“Willingly?!” Kevin was frustrated, making his words incomprehensible. “Do you understand what it means to accept Chadwick’s threat?”
“I do,” Esther said, her heart aching. “But I had no choice. I want him to survive.”
Kevin fell silent.
Esther and Bradley hadn’t officially divorced yet, and as his wife, she had the authority to sign the surgery consent form. The surgery would be under Kevin’s supervision. All preparations were in place, awaiting Mandy.
Esther wasn’t sure if Chadwick could persuade Mandy to donate her liver. Her anxious heart calmed down only when she saw Mandy appear before her.
“Ms. Pendleton,” Esther nervously addressed her.
Mandy glanced at Esther coldly and spoke indifferently. “Mrs. Warner’s dedication to love is truly…
admirable.”
“Ms. Pendleton, I appreciate your help,” Esther said bitterly.
Mandy stood before Esther, her tone icy. “I recall you also promised someone else to donate your liver. Are you ready to fulfill that promise?”
“W-What do you mean?” Esther asked, slightly puzzled.
Mandy reminded her mockingly, “Have you forgotten your promise?”
Confused, Esther asked, “Ms. Pendleton, I don’t understand.”
