Chapter 104
Celena held Liam’s hand and said excitedly, “Liam, let me give you a tour of my home!”
Then, Celena happily showed Liam around the Stone Mansion. Lots of things have changed from what she could remember. The layout was quite different as well.
Even so, Celena still walked around with Liam for a long time.
Liam carried Jovie the whole time while following behind Celena. He watched her jovial expression under the sun. Her eyes were glimmering.
This was the version of Celena he had in his memory-not having a worry in the world, growing up with the affection from her family, and having a twinkle in her eyes.
Later that night, the Stones’ family dinner began at the dining hall of the Stone Mansion.
All of Reginald’s direct line of descendants attended the dinner th night, so they filled up all the seats at one big table.
Right then, Celena walked into the dining hall with Liam, who was carrying Jovie in his arms.
All the others had a look of disdain when they saw the family of three. They glared at them with obvious contempt in their eyes.
“Hmph. Do they think they are part of the Stones just because they’ve moved into the mansion? Tonight’s dinner is for family only. And they have the cheek to attend?”
“That’s right. They should learn to know their place!”
“Stop talking. That man, Liam, is a discharged soldier with a huge temper. He turns violent at anything that doesn’t go his way. Even Cheryl and Qemal were hit by him before.”
Celena did not care about what they said as she prepared herself to be ridiculed by others. She brought Jovie and Liam to an unoccupied small table at the side and sat down, ignoring the others.
This small table was specially arranged by Cheryl. The purpose of it was to humiliate them in front of everyone.
Cheryl wanted to let Celena know that even if she returned to the. Stone family, she was still redundant. She wanted to show Celena that there would be no place for her during a family gathering and that she would only deserve a small table in a corner.
Liam did not care about these, nor did he care about the occasional unkind gaze thrown at them.
Celena, however, was looking at Liam with an apologetic gaze. She said silently, “Liam, I’m sorry. If it’s not for me, you wouldn’t have to bear the disdain and ridicule from them!”
Liam looked at her and smiled, his eyes filled with adoration. He squeezed her hand and consoled her, “Don’t apologize, I don’t about any of this. I’m fine as long as I have you by my side.”
His affection and guilt toward Celena were getting deeper the long they were together. If it were not for him, she would not have to fac
all of this.
“Daddy, that looks so yummy. I want to have that,” said Jovie.
