All the guests almost arrived, so Peter walked to the center of the banquet hall and addressed all his guests loudly, "First of all, I'd like to welcome everyone to our humble abode. Your presence adds to our honor, and I hope you'll enjoy the night!"
The guests who were present all chimed in congratulatory replies. Then, someone shouted from the crowd, "Mr. Hughes, when will Trevyn arrive? We can't wait to lay our eyes upon the future general of Biskeland!"
"That's right! Stop hiding him, Mr. Hughes. Quickly let him make his entrance!"
"That's right!"
As he listened to everyone's passionate flattery and cheer, Peter's smile became brighter than ever. He was decked out in a sharp maroon suit, which made him look even more cheerful.
He calmed the crowd down by saying loudly, "Patience, my friends! My son called earlier and said that he was going to visit the mayor first. He's already on his way back! Please wait for a little longer, and he'll be here before you know it!"
Peter's announcement made everyone exclaim, "Trevyn has gone to visit the mayor. Mr. Lynch himself is a general. The future is bright for the Hughes family!"
"That's right! Trevyn is about to be promoted to general next month, that would make him the same rank as Malcolm!"
"If my son's half as excellent as Trevyn, I'd be able to rest in peace!"
As Peter listened to everyone's expression of praise and admiration, pride gradually filled his face.
Right at that moment, the screeching sound of the brakes could be heard outside of the Hughes Mansion.
Then, the butler dashed in and shouted gleefully, "Mr. Hughes! Mr. Trevyn's home!"
