After thinking for a bit, Alice decisively changed the direction of her hand, she picked up a set of pink casual clothes, and put it on.
When she was done, she stared at herself in the mirror and played with her hair. William's domineering face suddenly appeared in front of her eyes, he pinched her chin and ordered, "Smile foolishly."
Why did she think of William again?
Alice extended both her hands out and scooped up water, patting her cheeks, and looked at herself in the mirror.
That man made you a dog.
Don't forget the lesson you have learnt.
Alice warned herself as she walked out of her bedroom and down the stairs.
Patrick was already standing at the doorway. His clothes were neat and tidy, and his face still carried the look of a sick person, but his spirit was much better than yesterday. He did not look haggard, and his slender figure stood out especially under the sunlight.
"I thought you were still asleep."
Alice walked towards him.
"I'm going to the company to deal with giving up my position as the CEO. Do you want to come with me? You can hang around later." Patrick smiled at her and said, "Do you want it?"
Hang around?
Alice did not think for long before agreeing, "Alright."
If she stayed here, all she would do was let her imagination run wild.
"CEO Patrick, can I come out now?" A bitter voice rang out.
Tony walked out from behind the door with a face full of grief.
"Why are you hiding behind the door?"
Alice looked at him in shock.
"When he heard your footsteps, Patrick immediately put me behind the door, so you could see him at your first sight after getting up."
Tony sold off his BOSS, pressing his neck and said.
Alice looked at Patrick in shock, her feminine face revealing a hint of awkwardness, he coughed lightly and said to her, "Let's go, I'll buy some Egg-Packed Rice for you to eat on the way."
"Alright."
Alice felt a bit awkward as she did not want to receive Patrick's affection.
She was at a loss for what he was doing.
She wondered if she had made the right decision to stay.
The group of people left the Miller residence in a car.
As soon as they left the manor, danger followed them.
In order to protect her, Patrick brought along a lot of bodyguards.
But not long after they left, the motorcycle gang roared past them, zooming past them, making faces at them.
At first, Alice thought that she just ran into a bunch of motorcyclist, but when one of them rode past them, he suddenly raised his hammer and smashed the window.
"Bam!"
The glass shattered.
Alice was shocked, and subconsciously dodged. She was protected in Patrick's embrace.
Haha...'
The gang members outside laughed and quickly left.
"Bring the car at the back here. Protect our car." Patrick spoke to the driver.
"Yes, Mr.Patrick."
Alice wanted to get out of Patrick's embrace, he still stubbornly hugged her tight.
"..."
Alice pursed her lips, struggling even harder than him, and smiled faintly: "Thank you, I'm fine."
"Not injured?"
Patrick asked.
Alice shook her head, "No."
She sat up straight, and saw that all of the broken glass had fallen into the car. She frowned: "Was it William?"
"From the looks of it, he's trying to torture us." Patrick looked at the broken glass, his voice was cold, "What a boring method."
Alice's eyes dimmed.
Torture them.
If that was the case, Alice bit her lips and said worriedly, "Then there will be many similar things happening in the future."
"That's fine." Patrick laughed, his lips curving into a smile. "I still have to thank him for letting me hold you in my arms."
Alice laughed bitterly, "You're still in the mood to joke."
"Some things can't be avoided." Patrick said, "Who knows which will come first, death or tomorrow? If we don't die, wouldn't it be even worse to worry for nothing? "
"You're quite optimistic."
Alice smiled.
"I am already very satisfied that you can stay by my side." Patrick said, as he lowered his eyes to look at her hand. His gaze grew deeper, and slowly moved his hand over, wanting to cover her hand.
"The scenery is beautiful there."
Alice suddenly removed her hand, pointing towards a certain scenery outside the window.
Patrick's hand froze in mid air, his eyes dimmed. Her acting skills still needed to be improved, he coordinated with her, "Really? It's really beautiful."
Alice turned her face and looked out the window, she bit her lips, and did not know how to explain.
She didn't say that she was already moved by William and was afraid that she would hurt him.
On the second day after leaving William.
Patrick left for company and Alice walked into the biggest bookstore in San Francisco.
She walked straight to the comics section. She hadn't seen the comics since they were published.
