L—ily was sick for two days.
Mr Palace took care of her the whole time, boiling water for her and preparing some simple food for her.
Alice laid on the bed, her forehead was covered with ice bags, her face was pale, her lips were bloodless, her eyes were sunken in and looking at the light through the window, her eyes did not have any luster, only gloominess.
She felt disheartened.
If she held a glimmer of hope in her subconscious before, then now she was utterly disheartened.
When William hugged Mona and kissed her, even asking her if she had given up or not, she would no longer have any illusions about this relationship.
Enough.
When she thought about it, she was so indignified that she went to ask William if he still had feelings for her, she couldn't help but let her imagination run wild.
She deserved it.
Alice, you deserve it.
She blamed herself in her heart, wishing she could slap herself in the face a few times.
"Oh my god, how did you get sick?"
Anna walked in from outside with a bag of fruits in hand, looking at Alice as she muttered to herself worriedly, "Why don't you pay attention? You know you're pregnant, when you're sick, you can't take any medicine. It's just too painful to endure."
Alice lied down on her bed, looked at Anna absentmindedly and slowly said, "Anna, this time, I've completely given up."
"What?"
Anna stood beside the bed, looking at her in confusion.
Why would she suddenly tell her this?
"From today onwards, I will no longer think about that man forever." Alice said with a firm voice, as if she was speaking for herself, "I won't give him a chance to humiliate me again."
She wouldn't be so indignified anymore.
She no longer had any place left for William to trample on. Her heart had already been stomped into pieces by him and Mona, and she had had enough.
Anna looked at her blankly, then asked curiously, "What happened between you and Mr. William?"
Alice coughed, Anna immediately sat on the bed and lightly patted her through the blanket, consoling her, "Alright, alright, don't think about it."
Alice coughed, the itch in her throat was unbearable, she coughed until a tear trickled down her eye, she could not control it, the only thing in her eyes was despair.
"Why are you coughing like this? How about going to the hospital?" Anna asked.
"I've already been there. The doctor told me to rest at home." Alice smiled bitterly and said, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
Anna looked at her worriedly, "Why don't you go live at my place? My husband and I will take care of you."
"No need, I know that you guys have been preparing to have a baby recently." Alice sat up from the bed and weakly took down the ice sack.
Mr Palace.
She didn't even want to hear that name anymore. Should she change it?
"No matter how good it is, it is still just a robot. What if it can't take care of you?" Anna asked anxiously, she still wanted to bring her to her place.
"It's fine. It's the same as calling you when I need help, right?" Alice said with a smile.
"That's true, technology is very developed these days." Anna nodded her head, "Then you should lie down and get a good sleep. I'll go to work first, and I'll negotiate over the contract for the adaptation of the comics. Call me if you need anything."
"Got it."
Alice sat on the bed and smiled as she watched her leave.
Anna's figure disappeared from the bedroom, and Alice's expression immediately became miserable. She weakly sat on the bedside, and stared blankly ahead.
"Master, lie down and sleep."
Alice nodded, "Hmm."
She lay down, her eyes were open, she was unable to sleep.
Alice was sick. When she thought that she was almost better, she started having a high fever.
It was only when her mind became more and more muddleheaded that she took her temperature. 39 degrees and a half.
Alice was shocked by the thermometer's numbers.
No, she had to go to the hospital.
Alice lifted her blanket and got down from the bed. Her head was heavy and her feet were weak, her vision was blurry, the entire bedroom was spinning very quickly, she was afraid that she would fall down, so she immediately sat down on the bed and shouted, "Mr Palace, Mr Palace!"
When she spoke, her voice was terrifyingly hoarse.
The light shone on her face, and her face became very pale and haggard.
"Master." It took a long time for Mr palace to come in, and just as it recharged itself, Alice called for it.
"Phone."
Alice weakly said as she sat on the bed and looked at her phone on the bedside table. Her vision was spinning so badly that even if she wanted to reach for her phone, she would not be able to do so.
Her head was heavy and she was dizzy.
Alice reached out and grabbed at the air a few times before she managed to grab the phone. Then, with much difficulty, she found Anna's number and dialed it.
No one answered.
Alice bit her lips as she held the phone tightly. She was feeling extremely uncomfortable, her head was getting more and more dizzy, and heavier and heavier.
Before she could finish her call, a bolt of lightning flashed past the window, and the light in the bedroom suddenly disappeared. It was absolute dark, followed by deafening thunder.
BOOM!
Alice's head was spinning, her vision suddenly turned black, she was shocked, the phone fell from her hands, she raised her head and looked blankly at the darkness around her.
"There's a power failure."
