S—he didn't know if her mother had woken up yet, but if she hadn't, she would have to prepare for surgery. Alice was really worried about Beverly's body.
Thinking about this, Alice opened a drawer in front of her, and started rummaging through a pile of jewelry. Where did they put her phone?
Alice carried her long skirt as she rummaged through the drawers one by one, but she couldn't find anything. The door was knocked twice. She stood up, and said with a raised voice, "Come in."
Daniel walked in with a mobile phone in his hand, "Miss.Brown, here is your phone."
"Great." Alice immediately took the phone, "Thank you, Steward Frank."
She could hear from her mother.
"As long as Miss.Brown doesn't blame me." Daniel still looked at her guiltily.
Hearing that, Alice raised her gaze to look at him, and laughed bitterly: "I don't know why, but I don't find it strange to blame you."
Maybe because he was still loyal to William and only listened to his orders, she could not blame him forthat.
"Miss.Brown is lenient. Just stay here, I'll come invite you when the banquet begins."
Daniel said.
"Alright."
Remembering Beverly in her heart, she did not chat with him for a bit. As she walked to the makeup mirror and sat down, she switched on her phone.
This was a completely subconscious action.
She had recently gotten used to contacting Patrick.
"The engagement ceremony hasn't completely ended, and you're already impatient to explain it to Patrick?" A cold, sinister voice sounded behind her.
Alice sat on the chair. Upon hearing what she said, she looked up at the makeup mirror in front of her. She saw William standing behind her, wearing a dark coloured suit and suit, looking handsome and spirited with a blue striped tie that matched her dress. However, his face was cold, as if it was sealed by ice and snow, and his pair of black eyes met her gaze in the mirror.
Immediately after, the phone in Alice's hand was snatched away.
He hung up and slammed her cell phone to the side.
Silent.
Alice's eyes glazed over at his action of throwing the phone, and after a few seconds, she said, "I want to ask about my mother."
"Why won’t you call your father or a servant?" William coldly asked, his eyes suspiciously staring at her. His foot on her phone, both hands pressing on her shoulders over the back of the chair. He slowly bent down and leaned against her face, his black eyes becoming more and more gloomy.
Suddenly, his hand gripped her chin as he looked at her reflection in the mirror. He said in a cold voice, "Remember, we are engaged. You chose this path yourself. You are mine now, and every single strand of hair is mine!"
Arrogant and despotic.
Alice's jaw was aching from his pinching. She looked at the makeup mirror, and her eyes dimmed, "I don't have that kind of feelings for Patrick, I have never loved him ..."
At this point, she no longer had to hide it from William, nor did mislead him.
"I don't care what your feelings are." William interrupted her words, turning his gaze to look at her face which was right in front of him. He stared at her long eyelashes, and spoke each word coldly, "Anyway, from now on, forget about him. Don't make me angry!"
"I don't want to hear his name from you again!" William glared at her sinisterly, "Otherwise, I don't know what I will do!"
"I told you not to mention it!"
"I want to know about my mother's health." Alice looked at his cold face and said.
William fiercely glared at her, "She's already awoken, you don't have to think too much!"
"Awake, really?" Alice looked at him in delight, and pushed his hands away before standing up from the chair, "When did she wake up? William, let me make a call."
William straightened his body, "You think I'm lying to you?"
Of course she knew he wouldn't lie to her about it.
"I'm just worried about my mother." Alice said.
"Are you worried about your mother or worried that Patrick will feel sad and anxious to comfort him?" William stared at her, and mocked coldly, "Let me tell you, Alice, you made this choice yourself, it wasn't me who forced you to do it!"
Isn't he forcing her?
He had used his own death to scare her.
Seeing him like this, Alice suddenly realized that she had done another thing wrong. She had misled him into thinking that she was already in love with Patrick. He was a paranoia, so he won't believe her at once.
This time, she didn't know how long it would take for William to understand that she had never loved Patrick before.
"What do you mean? Are you scolding me?" William said coldly, his eyes filled with anger.
"I didn't."
"I heard it!" William glared at her, "Come out, drink with me!"
He ordered her, and turned away.
