"I heard that Miss Alice was born a commoner and studied in a unknown university. Our second young master has always had his eyes set on the top, and I helped him pick out a few young miss from the big families. He was not satisfied with them, and ended up liking Miss Alice."
"Yeah. In particular, that Miss Lancaster, who was born beautiful and intelligent, is now married to an American."
"I wonder how much has been prepared for you from Miss Alice's family?"
The three noble madams spoke one after another.
Alice stood in front of the easel and smiled, "I'm just a commoner, I don't have any family wealth."
William immediately furrowed his brows.
Elizabeth was sipping her tea. She could not listen to what was being said, and spoke coldly: "Alice has a family business in Italy, and has a lot of assets, as well as islands."
"What island? The kind that can be bought with a little money? Hehe."
The three ladies laughed again, as if they had heard a funny joke.
Alice stood there quietly. She had already gotten used to this kind of mockery. She drew calmly, but it was just that the wound on her wrist made it difficult for her to draw.
She was fine when she fell down, and her wrist was completely twisted because of practicing etiquette.
William's eyes became completely gloomy, and just as he was about to move forward, he saw Elizabeth's expression became ugly, "Do you really think that our family will fall after marrying a commoner lady? Before you speak, do you want to think about whether you can bully my husband or my son?"
Hearing this, the three noble madams exchanged hid their smiles. "What are you angry about? We were just casually chatting."
"I'm sorry, I don't like this kind of conversation." Elizabeth got up from the sofa and glanced at Alice, "Alice, let's go back. See the guests off."
"Yes."
Alice nodded and followed Elizabeth.
William stood behind the tree and looked at Alice. She followed behind Elizabeth with a calm expression and a smile on her face, as if she did not care about all the disturbance.
Was this what she heard in the Cullen Family?
Alice followed Elizabeth and left from another direction. Before she left, she heard the three noble madams whispering to each other.
"Cullen Family isn't as good as before. He is just a merchant, he doesn't have any backbone at all."
Between women, it seemed, words could never cease being bitter.
Alice walked beside Elizabeth and whispered, "Sorry."
"Your original identity and background were not bad, but now you've lost both your parents and now you're alone. I couldn't defend yourself even if I want to." Elizabeth said somewhat helplessly.
Alice's expression remained indifferent as she quietly listened.
"I'll go back and rest."
Elizabeth turned and left.
William slowly walked behind Alice. Looking at her slender figure, she used her right hand to support her head as she stood there with her head lowered.
"Miss Alice, those people still stuck to the corrupt traditions of the aristocrats. You are not the first civilian married into a noble family, and you will not be the last one either. Don't feel depressed." Charles stood behind Alice and said gently.
Alice stood under a tree and kept her finger moving. Hearing this, she smiled, "I know, I even went to see some of their deeds."
"Oh? Really, Miss Alice has really put in a lot of effort."
"One is divorced, one is dead until he's middle -aged, and the other is as thin as firewood. Until now, he was not in good health." Alice laughed and said, "Nobility Clans and commoners are really two different worlds."
Hearing her laughter, William felt as if he was struck in the chest.
Butler Charles stood there, speechless.
However, Alice had a face full of indifference, "Charles, you don't have to have such an expression. I know very well what kind of price I have to pay for choosing such a path."
William stood not far away, his fingers tightly gripped the box in his hands.
"Oh right, Charles, I will go out later."
"Are you going out again?"
Charles was stunned.
"Yes."
Alice nodded and walked forward.
William silently followed behind her. He did not disturb her.
Alice walked out of the house and as usual, she thought of how to rid of Charles and the driver.
She held the phone and looked at the text messages on it.
After a while, a taxi stopped in front of her. She checked the car plate with the text, and found that they matched, then she stepped forward and opened the door to get in.
The driver drove on without asking where she was going.
She was going to see Mona.
Mona was now completely under the control of Mr. Y and was very obedient.
