My Love Until the Last Goodbye (Mary and Maximus) novel Chapter 258

Chapter 0258

Valerie was speechless, her eyes filling with tears as Marcus slid the ring onto the ring finger of her left hand. With her other hand, she covered her mouth, smilinga mix of emotions she didn’t know how to handle. Her tears were of joy, but also of nostalgia. Her mind was a whirlwind. This man had made real what she once dreamed of as a 16yearold girl full of hopes, before life had thrown her into all she had endured

Yes! A thousand times yes!Valerie said through her tears as he stood and embraced her.

The scene didn’t go unnoticed by the other diners. Seeing her reaction, they couldn’t help but feel part of the moment, applauding the beautiful proposal

Valerie’s cheeks burned as she blushed deeply, but Marcus calmed his nerves by kissing her. It was so sweet, so warm, that her heart filled to the brim. A heart that had been dormant for years until she met the man who would soon become her husband

After a wave of congratulations from a few fellow diners, Marcus and Valerie finished their dinner and left the restaurant. That night, they strolled hand in hand across the plaza of Hesperia’s central plaza, enjoying the warm evening. The bustling crowd surrounded them, but they were lost in their own world of glances, kisses, and embraces

Their lives had changed in mere moments. Each carried their own past, full of memories, but tonight they left all of that behind to start planning the life they would build together

That night, Marcus decided to kidnapValerie for a bit longer. It was a special occasion for them both. He sent a message to Camille, letting her know Valerie wouldn’t be coming home, but that they’d be back early the next morning. Marcus had always respected Camille as a maternal figure to Valerie, and though Camille didn’t require such formality, Marcus felt it was the right thing to do

He brought Valerie to his home. She carried the bouquet of flowers, determined to put them in water. They were too beautiful to let them wilt. There was something about Marcus’s house that always gave her a rare sense of peace. From the first time she’d been there, it had felt that way. She used to think it was just the lingering scent of Marcus’s cologne, but now she wasn’t so sure

Once the flowers were in water, Valerie and Marcus left the kitchen and brought the bouquet to his bedroom. Marcus could hardly wait to make this beautiful woman his own. As soon as she set the vase down on a decorative table, Marcus grabbed her by the waist and turned her to face him, pulling her into a passionate kiss. Valerie knew exactly what this meant tonight, rest would not come easily. Once again, as on other occasions, there was so much to say, but not with words

Valerie relished the intimacy she shared with Marcus. His foreplay was both torturous and thrilling, driving her to the edge of desperation, yearning for him to take her completely. Yet Marcus always took his time, carefully undressing her, covering her body with kisses and gentle caresses. No matter how much desire burned within him, he was never rough. On the contrary, he savored every moment, teasing her with the promise of what was to come but never rushing. He kissed and touched her until she could bear it no longer

The onceshy, inexperienced woman had slowly learned to embrace and enjoy every sensation Marcus awakened in her during their moments together

[Present day in Valeria, Valentia

Marcus was finishing his second cup of coffee when a knock at the door pulled him from the haze of his memories
