“Serenity is in it.” 

“Your sister?” 

“Yes. I know something’s not right. Lucius isn’t trustworthy. Let’s see where he takes her, and if necessary, I’ll confront him–but I’d prefer not to. At least not until I talk to Marcus Bartz.” 

“Understood, sir. I’ll be very discreet. He hasn’t noticed we’re following him.

“Have you been able to locate my uncle?” 

“Maximus Palmer?” 

“Exactly. I don’t have any other uncles. Telline, have you found him?” 

“Yes, but he isn’t answering his phone. I think it might have something to do with his wife’s accident 

“I don’t think so. Give me his address. After we see what’s Happening with Serenity, I want to pay him a visit.”

Alden had been watching Serenity from the shadows. He usually saw her after her classes ended. He hadn’t approached her yet but had started to notice her routine. Yesterday, when he saw Marcus drop her off and noticed how downcast she seemed, it caught his attention. Today, be planned to approach her, but Lucius had beaten him to it.
