Chapter 0350
Maximus watched as Marcus took Serenity away. For a brief moment, be felt a twinge of nostalgia. His daughter had been so frightened that she was happy to see and hug bon, but he knew he had to respect the fact that Marcus had been her legal and emotional father for years. Forcing plugs wouldn’t help.
After reflecting for a moment, Maximas turned to the young man who was watching the departing pair and said, ” So, what do you want to know about your father?”
“I don’t know anything, except for what my mother has told me. I need to know what he was like,” Alden said, his eyes filled with interest.
Maximus smiled faintly. He had never had the chance to sit and talk with his brother at that age, and now here was Peter’s son, unwilling to leave without learning about his father.
“This morning has been hectic. How about we grab a drink? Maximus suggested, masking his excitement.
“Sure! Just give me a moment I need to make a call.”
“Go ahead.”
“Are we taking your car or mine?” Alden asked, dialing Ignatius.
“Where’s your car parked?”
“It’s in the lot. My assistant is waiting for me. I’m calling him now.”
Alden instructed Ignatius to bring the car and follow closely. He wasn’t sure yet if Maximus could be trusted and didn’t want to compromise his safety.
Maximus couldn’t help but grin when he saw Alden’s car. The young man didn’t just resemble Peter physically his tastes were similar too. Alden’s vehicle was a sleek black Lamborghini Veneno Roadster.
“You really do take after your father. He loved these cars. He…” Maximus trailed off, realizing he was about to mention Peter’s death in his favorite car.
“What?” Alden asked, sensing hesitation.
“Nothing.. Forget it. Let’s grab a drink, and you can tell me about yourself–and how it’s possible none of us. knew you existed.”
After driving for a while, they arrived at a bat Maximus often visited with Diana. As they walked in, Maximus couldn’t shake his amazement. Alden was a striking replica of Peter, though his eyes and complexion were different. His thoughts drifted to Catherine–two of her grandchildren had inherited her eye color. The beauty of both Serenity and Alden was unmistakably tied to her. If things had gone differently, Catherine could have enjoyed not just one, but two grandchildren, born only a few years apart.
“What’ll you have?” Maximus asked, observing Alden curiously.
“Straight vodka.”
“Russian tradition?”
“My mother taught me. I like White Russians, but it’s hard to find them here. My mom loved making them,” Alden said with a touch of nostalgia.
“Your mother… is she no longer with us?” Maximus asked hesitantly.
“Oh, no, she’s alive. Actually, I’m here because of her. A while back, we had an accident, and she hasn’t been able

to walk since. I’m trying to contact a doctor who’s said to be excellent in spinal treatments.”
“Sorry, the way you spoke made it seem like she wasn’t around anymore.”
“She’s here, but she’s not the same woman she used to be “That’s why I’m determined to find that doctor.”
“I see. You must really adore your mother.
