“Serenity, I’m sorry, my dear. It’s just… seeing this young man left me in shock.” 

“It’s okay, Maximus. Just stop squeezing my hand–I’m not going anywhere, especially not like this.” 

“Serenity, what did that bastard do to you?” 

Alden was stunned by the way Maximus, spole, especially knowing they were talking about his son. 

“There’s a lot we need to talk about, Alden, but right now, just want to take Serenity somewhere she can be checked out. I don’t know how to thank you for having her with you–Lucus is not someone to be trusted,” Maximus said, looking at the young man 

“I do know! I want to know about my father! I want you to tell me about him!” 

Maximus and Serenity stared at Alden. This man, usually so composed, now seemed like an eager boy ready to take on the world. 

“Alden, I can tell you stories about your father from when we were kids, but I think the person who can tell you the most is just arriving,” Maximus said, nodding toward Marcus in the distance. 

When Marcus saw Serenity holding Maximus’s hand, he felt a surge of jealousy mixed with relief. His daughter was safe. But then, he noticed the presence of another persen. Seeing him from afar, Marcus’s heart began to race. “It’s Peter! He’s alive!‘ But as he got closer; his hopes started to fade. It wasn’t Peter, but the resemblance was 

uncanny. 

Both men’s security teams were on high alert, unsure who the stranger was. Meanwhile, Ignatius, watching from a distance, observed the activity. Concerned, he called Alden 

Alden glanced at his phone and answered, “What’s up, Ignatius?” 

“There are too many people around you. Are you sure you don’t want us to extract you?” 

*No, my friend! Relax, everything’s fine!” Alden said with a smile. 

As Marcus approached, he focused on Serenity, rushing to ber and pulling her close. She was his world, and the sight of her hurt tore at him. 1/ 

“What happened to you, Serenity? Where were you, my girl” Marcus asked, embracing her and kissing the top of 

her head. 

“Dad, I’m fine! He helped me! His team rescued me. If it weren’t for them, I don’t know what Lucius and my grandfather would have done,” Serenity said, glancing back at Alden. 

“Who are you?” Marcus asked coldy. 

“His name is Alden, and he’s Peter’s son,” Maximus responded calmly. 

“You’re Peter’s son?” Marcus asked, astonished. 

“Yes, that’s correct. I’m Peter’s son. As I already told my uncle, my name is Alden Pietrovich Palmer,” Alden replied without hesitation. 

“I’ve never heard of you,” Marcus said, still in shock. 

“It’s obvious he’s Peter’s son! Just look at him–he’s the spitting image,” Maximus sald, stepping in to shield Alden from Marcus’s scrutiny. 

“Okay, okay. But what were you doing with my daughter?”
