Chapter 0366
Marcus and Valerie returned to the house. She picked up the bouquet of flowers and her bag, then said, “I’m ready! We can go. This house holds so many beautiful memories, but the ones I want to keep are the ones we make together with our children.”
Marcus turned to look at her, his almond–colored eyes brimming with love.
“Valerie, I love you. Don’t ever forget that.”
Valerie and Marcus locked up the house, leaving behind the memories of what once was but would never be again. They got in the car, ready to find a place to have dinner and spend the night.
The couple found a quiet spot for dinner. After a day filled with raw emotions, they enjoyed their conversation and each other’s company. Valerie had no doubts–he was the love of her life. Despite the hardships they had endured, being there together was the best reward she could have, along with their beautiful children.
After dinner, they walked hand in hand through the streets of downtown Galea. For the first time in a long while, Valerie felt a sense of calm. She glanced at her handsome husband and couldn’t explain the overwhelming happiness in her chest; it felt as though her heart might burst.
At the end of the evening, they arrived at their hotel room. Marcus couldn’t contain himself anymore. He pulled her close, unbuttoning her dress slowly, savoring every second. Seeing her bare skin, inhaling her mango–and- citrus scent–she drove him wild. Valerie shivered with delight as his hands explored her body, his fingers playing with her hair. Though she had once been unsure how to undress him, the years had made her an expert.
Marcus’s scent hadn’t changed; it still drove her crazy, and he knew it, which was why he’d never switch colognes. Their naked bodies intertwined like works of art, mesmerizing in their beauty. Marcus lifted her and gently laid her on the bed. This time, he kissed every inch of her body, his hands exploring every curve. For the first time, he felt a deep fear of losing her. But tonight, they were here, lost in a dance of kisses, caresses, and embraces. They reveled in each moment together. She was the only woman who could make him feel this way. They were no longer young, but the way they expressed their love was as passionate as the first time.
The night was long, with neither of them sleeping a wink. As dawn broke, their tired, naked bodies finally succumbed to exhaustion. Marcus held her tightly as they drifted into a deep sleep.
A few hours later, they awoke and entered the shower together. Marcus lathered her body with soap, his hands trailing kisses and caresses across her skin as he rinsed away the foam. The shower was exciting and drawn–out. When they finally stepped out, they lingered, reluctant to leave the bubble of intimacy they had created. But they knew it was time to go home–their children would be waiting for them.
“Marcus, you were insatiable last night. We need to head home now…” Valerie said teasingly as Mareus continued to kiss and hold her naked body.
“Valerie, you are a feast for my eyes, my hands. Your scent drives me crazy. Lcould stay like this forever. For a moment, I thought I’d lost you, and I can’t imagine a single day without you. You are my soul, my heart, my body. Everything I am and have is yours.”
“Marcus, never think for a second that I could leave you. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t imagine a life without you,” Valerie replied, straddling him as she embraced him tightly, kissing him with wild abandon.
After another round of tender love, they finally left the hotel room. Their destination was the place they called home, where their family was waiting for them.
On the plane, Valerie beamed at Marcus with a bright smile She had arrived at Galea with a heart full of anxiety but was returning with the serenity only he could give her. She still had a lot to sort out and talk about with Serenity. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, but it couldn’t wait any longer.
