Chapter 0412 

“Excuse me, one question–what’s his grandfather’s name?” 

“Ms. Valerie, Ethan’s grandfather’s name is Theodore. He’s the one we have registered at our institution. Would you like me to call him?” 

“No, don’t worry, let’s go inside. Ethan’s going with us today, and I went out to pick him up.” 

Valerie was left with a strange sensation in her chest. She felt like she had seen someone familiar, but couldn’t explain it. If only there hadn’t been so many children in the way, she would have recognized the little boy’s grandfather. 

She had heard of doppelgängers, but this felt like a strange coincidence. 

After some time by plane, Peter was on his way to the small town of Appenzell, one of the 20 most beautiful villages in the Swiss Alps. Despite the fact that Alexia deserved the worst of fates, Peter had decided not to send her elsewhere. He didn’t have that kind of heart; he needed answers, and a part of him knew that she could give them to him. 

For a normal person, without extravagant tastes, the place would be a paradise of tranquility. But for Alexia, it was hell. There was nothing–she couldn’t see anything, she couldn’t hear anything except the sounds of farm animals. Occasionally, the nurse assigned to care for her would open the window, letting fresh air into the room, adjusting the pillow so she could look at the view. But none of it provided any comfort. 

“Hello, Eliya! How’s the missus?” Peter asked, with some hesitation 

“Hello, Mr. Palmer! She’s becoming more and more resistant to living here. She overwhelms me with her questions, always asking who’s behind all of this, but I just tell her that this is simply my job. But she keeps insisting ” 

“I understand!” 

“Don’t worry, I’ll speak with her today and ask her to be more polite and kind with you.” 

“Please, talk to her! She refuses to take her medication, and sometimes she spits it out. It seems like she wants to die…” 

“Don’t worry, Eliya! I’ll speak with her today Hey, can you go to the market and get these things? I’m flying back today, but I’ve been asked to pick up a few things for the house.” Peter said, handing him a shopping list. 

Eliya sensed something odd about the man, but she had been hired to care for a quadriplegic woman, the wife of an important businessman. One of the key requirements for the job was discretion, so she limited herself to doing her work without asking questions. After a few more words, Eliya left the house, leaving the couple alone. Peter entered the room and saw Alexia with her pillow slightly crooked. He adjusted it carefully. Her gaze was fixed on a point in the room 

“Alexia, I’ve been told you don’t want to take your medication,” Peter said gently. 

The woman tried to turn to see who the owner of the voice was, but, logically, she couldn’t do it. 

“I don’t know what they want from me. If I’m already dead to the world, why don’t they just let me die here?” she said, her voice filled with bitterness. 

“My dear wife! How could I let you die?” Peter said, walking to stand in front of her. 

Alexia’s eyes widened so much that it seemed her pupils would fall out of them.

“Peter!” she said, as tears filled her eyes. 

“Yes, my love! 

same one you ordered to be killed!” 

“You were dead!” Alexia said, her voice trembling
