Chapter 0419
After dropping Valerie off at home, Marcus headed to the office, still reeling from the news. At 55 years old, he was going to be a father again–not to one baby, but two. It was a revelation that brought immense joy but also meant a significant shift in plans. As he’d told his beloved wife, family would always be his top priority, and there were some loose ends he needed to tie up before their twins arrived. One of those was Frank Levett.
“Frederick? Are you in the office?” Marcus asked, calling his longtime confidant.
“Hello, Marcus. Yes, I’m here. What’s going on?”
“I’ve got something to tell you. I think you’re going to be surprised…”
“Really? Is it good or bad?”
“You’ll find out when I get there. But hey…” Marcus hesitated for a moment.
“Yes? What is it?”
“Where is Frank Levett these days? Can you get me the address of his current location?”
“That’s what you wanted to talk about? For a moment, I thought you’d finally let that matter go.”

“No, Frederick. I’ve let him be for a while, but you know as well as I do without me, Frank is nothing.”
“Let me check the database. I’ll have the address ready when you get here.”
“Perfect, my friend. I’ll see you in ten minutes.”
Closing the chapter on Frank Levett was a priority for Marcus before the twins were born. Frank, now wasting away in a nursing home in Valentia, was nothing more than a shadow of the proud Judge Levett he once was. To Marcus, he was just a husk, a selfish old man stealing oxygen from the next generation.
Arriving at Palmer Group headquarters, Marcus headed straight to Frederick’s office. Frederick, who was pouring himself a coffee, turned to see Marcils enter briskly, his face glowing with joy and excitement.
“What’s with you? You look like you just closed the deal of a lifetime,” Frederick said, intrigued.
“Something like that, my dear friend!” Marcus replied, clapping him on the shoulder.
“Come on, what’s this big news you wanted to share?”
“I’m going to be a dad!” Marcus shouted, grinning ear to ear. “Not to one, but two beautiful babies!”
“Are you serious?” Frederick asked, completely stunned.
“Yes! Valerie and I just came from the gynecologist. She confirmed it–she’s three months pregnant, and we’re having twins!”
Frederick set his coffee cup down on the desk and extended his arms to pull Marcus into a strong embrace. Frederick, who had been through so much with Marcus, felt a wave of pride and happiness wash over him. Watching the man he saw as almost a son continue to thrive and grow brought him a deep sense of satisfaction.
“Congratulations, Marcus,” Frederick said, his voice warm with emotion “Those little ones are already so lucky to have you.”
Thank you, my friend,” Marcus replied, his excitement barely contained. “They’re coming at the perfect time. And with everything in place, we’ll make sure they have the best life possible.”
