Hours after leaving Celeste’s apartment, Peter’s private jet louched down at a secluded airport in the Swiss Alps. From there, he drove toward Appenzell, the picturesque town where Alexia was staying. As he navigated the winding roads, he decided to call Alexia’s doctor 

“Dr. Stephenson, I need to see you. It seems my wife is regaining mobility. Can you meet me at the house?” 

“Mr. Palmer, that’s wonderful news! Congratulations! I’ll be there in an hour.” 

“Thank you. 

Before heading to Switzerland, Peter had briefly stopped by the mansion in Westhaven to pack a small suitcase. He explained to Theodore that he was leaving to close a deal, entrusting Ethan to his care. Before leaving, he peeked into Ethan’s room, where Alden and Ethan were sound asleep, popcorn scattered on the floor from their late–night movie. 

“It’s incredible, isn’t it? That they’re father and son?” Theodore remarked, standing behind him. 

“Yes… Incredible how much time has passed,” Peter replied, a tinge of nostalgia in his voice. “I still remember when I met Alden. Now he’s a full–fledged businessman.” 

“He has it in his genes, and the little one is following in his footsteps. Did you know he sells candy secretly at school?” 

Peter turned to Theodore, surprised. “What? Why?” 

Theodore shrugged with a faint smile. “Probably wants to buy something” 

“Well, as long as I don’t get calls from the school.”

Eliya was cleaning the kitchen when she heard the front door open. She peeked out to see the imposing figure of Peter entering the house. 

“Mr. Palmer! It’s so good to see you! The missus just fell asleep, but I’m sure she’ll wake up later. Would you like something to eat?” 

“Hello, Eliya. Tell me… When was the last time you visited your family?” 

“A month ago, sir. You know how it is–I’m here every day, always keeping an eye on the missus.” 

“Eliya, I’ll be staying here with her for a few days. I think it’d be good for you to take this time to visit your family.” 

“Sir, but what about you?” 

“Eliya, I can take care of myself. I know everything Alexia needs, and I’ll manage just fine. Don’t worry, Go visit your family. If I need anything, I’ll call you. But this week, I want to spend time with my wife. 

“That sounds wonderful, sir! No doubt, your presence will lift her spirits. A few days with her might really help her recovery.” 

“I’ve arranged for a driver to pick you up and take you home. He should be here in about 20 minutes. Get ready,” “Thank you, sir! Really, thank you so much!” Eliya exclaimed, uning off to pack.
