After a long conversation with Theodore, Peter left the study feeling somewhat more at ease. He needed a shower and to get ready–he was anxious to see Celeste, Unsure if she would be home, he decided to call her first. 

“Hello?” 

“Celeste?” 

“Yes?” 

“It’s Peter…” 

“I know. You added your number to my phone last time,” she replied with a hint of amusement. 

“I just got back from a trip. Would it be alright if I came to see you? I wanted to check if you were free–I wouldn’t want to interrupt any plans.” 

“Hmm… No, not really. Spike and I decided to stay in tonight, so if you want, you can come here.” 

“I’ll be there in an hour,” Peter said, checking his watch. 

“Alright, see you soon,” Celeste replied, feeling a slight flutter in her stomach. 

She loved how effortlessly things flowed between them. No drama, no complications–just the budding connection between a man and a wornan who were still getting to know each other. 

Peter felt like a teenager again, rushing to see the girl he liked after school. Before he knew it, he was on his way to her, stopping only to buy a bouquet of flowers. 

After hanging up, Celeste realized she had to get ready. She had been lounging in comfortable leggings, an oversized t–shirt, and a messy bun. Her original plan had been to watch movies with Spike while munching on pizza and snacks. Peter’s call, however, had completely changed her Saturday night. 

She quickly took a shower and threw on a casual yet flattering summer dress–her go–to for looking effortlessly presentable. Skipping the shoes, she decided to stay barefoot, as she always did in her apartment. 

Despite her outward calm, Celeste couldn’t ignore the lingering memories of Peter’s last visit. All week, she had thought about that night–his lips on hers, the way his hands had explored her body with care and desire. She could still feel his touch, and the thought of seeing him again sent a rush of nerves through her. 

Soon, the doorbell rang. Her heart raced as she walked to answer it, her palms slightly sweaty. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door. Before she could react, Peter pulled her into his arms, his hands on her waist as he kissed her passionately. Caught off guard, Celeste surrendered to the moment, letting herself melt into his embrace. 

Peter had been starving–not for food, but for her. He needed her lips, her scent, her presence. All week, she had consumed his thoughts, an experience entirely new to him when he finally broke the kiss, they both gasped for alr. 

“Hello,” Peter said, still close enough for her to feel his breath on her skin. “I brought you these.” 

He handed her a bouquet of fresh freesias. Celeste’s face lit up with a smile. The previous bouquet he had given ber had withered days ago, and she adored the delicate, fragrant flowers. 

“Thank you! I had to throw the last ones out three days ago

“Peter, could you let me go? 1 need to put these in water..”

Right, sorry. I forgot I was holding you,” he said with chuckle, releasing her. 

As Celeste went to find a vase, Peter crouched down to greet Spike, the ever–affectionate cat who immediately curled up near him. 

“Were you about to eat?” Peter asked as Celeste returned. 

She hesitated, embarrassed by her earlier plan to lounge around all evening. But when she stepped into the room, she saw him sitting on the couch, already munching on a slice of pizza with Spike sprawled across his lap. 

“I have to admit, my plan was to do nothing all evening–just watch movies and eat junk food.” 

“That sounds perfect,” Peter said, taking another bite. “I haven’t eaten since yesterday. I couldn’t resist.” 

“You didn’t even have breakfast?” 

“I had coffee at the airport, but when I saw your pizza, my stomach growled. Do you mind if I help myself?” 

Not at all. Do you want a plate?”
