Chapter 0573
Adrian, after hearing Laura’s announcement, froze. The playful smirk that had been on his face moments ago vanished, replaced by a cold, almost chilling expression. He pushed her away abruptly, as if she had said something offensive or disgusting-
“Abort it! Get rid of it!”
Laura didn’t understand at first, her ever
widening in disbelief.
“What? I j
told you–we’re going to be parents!”
“And I just told you–abort it! Do you really think we’re at the age to play house and be parents?”
“Adrian…” Laura shouted, both shocked and furious.
“I’m serious–get rid of it. If you don’t have the money or know a doctor, I’ll take you. I know someone reliable,” Adrian said, gripping her chin tightly and staring her down.
“Adrian, let me go! You’re hurting me!” Laura’s voice cracked as tears welled up in her eyes.
“I’ll say it again–abort it, or I’ll make you abort it! I don’t want a damn kid at this age. I have nothing to offer it!” Adrian’s words came without remorse.
In Adrian’s mind, his uncle’s words echoed. After Audrey’s exposure at the hands of Maximus, the Palmer family’s plans had crumbled. Leonardo’s proposal to unite the families was off the table, and the Browns could no longer associate with the Palmers. Adrian had been pressured to break ties, especially after Audrey’s pregnancy came to light. It was confirmed Maximus wasn’t the father, but Audrey refused to reveal the truth.
Adrian’s role in the scheme had been simple: charm Laura, make her fall for him, then discard her when she was too attached to let go. A child was never part of the plan. Audrey wanted Laura to feel the same heartbreak she had suffered, but unlike Laura, Audrey had known the risks. Laura, in contrast, was innocent.
Adrian was pulled from his thoughts by Laura’s trembling voice.
“But… you said… you said you wanted to marry me,” she stainmered, stunned.
“Oh, please! I only said that to make you feel special, babe. You’re a catch, sure, but that doesn’t mean I’d want to stay with you. I’m not crazy,” Adrian replied, his words cutting and careless.
Laura, who had never faced such cruelty, snapped. She lunged at him, slapping and hitting him wildly. Adrian, trying to restrain her, grabbed her wrists but failed to calm her. Frustrated, he slapped her hard across the face, making her cry out in pain.
A gardener working nearby heard the scream and rushed over. The scene he found was appalling–Laura’s pale. skin now bore a vivid handprint on her cheek. Adrian’s mocking words only made the situation worse.
“Laura, I already told you–get rid of that brat. I don’t care what you have to do, but I’m not taking responsibility. And this is your fault for being naive and throwing yourself at me.”
“You’re a bastard! A worthless, lying piece of trash!” Laura shouted, still swinging at him.
The gardener quickly stepped in, pulling Laura away. He had worked at the school for years and had seen Adrian’s behavior before–innocent girls falling for his charm and ending up heartbroken. But Laura was different. She wasn’t backing down.
“You two–this ends now. The administration needs to hear about this,” the gardener said firmly, holding Laura back.

“What? And what are they going to blame me for? Not wanting someone to pin a kid on me? This little slut threw herself at me,” Adrian sneered.
“I don’t care what happened. This is going to the administration. I’ll report what I saw,” the gardener replied sharply.
He escorted both of them to the office and reported the incident to the headmistress.
“Adrian, causing trouble again? Aren’t your poor grades enough of a problem?” the headmistress said, clearly irritated.
“And Laura… I’m shocked. Your father assured me you were a well–behaved student. Now I see the truth. According to the gardener, you’re pregnant. You know the school’s policy–we’re strict about these matters. If this is true, you won’t be allowed to continue attending classes.
