While a series of events began to unfold in Westhaven, in Veligandu, the Palmer and Bartz families were starting to adapt. Laura, with her increasingly swollen belly, suffered from morning sickness and nighttime cravings for sweet things. Emma took care of the whole family fervently despite being an older woman, she felt a strong responsibility to look after each member of this curious family. 

Alden was a busy man most of the time, though he made some space to spend with his son and nephews. Every time Serenity saw him playing with the kids, she felt a curicus sensation. The man reminded her of her father. He even had a magnetic effect on Paul, who was a rebellious and distracted teenager. 

Paul was starting to want to imitate that man, even in his quirks and style of dress. The teenager wanted to look like him. Laura noticed it too. When they first moved into the mansion with Maximus, they had hired a nanny, but Paul was awkward and never managed to go out with that girl who was three years older than him. 

Now, in the Maldives, he had met a girl and wanted to be like Alden. He wanted to figure out how to catch the attention of the young woman. Serenity, noticing this, was at least relieved that they were not being affected by the ongoing situation in Valentia. 

“Serene, my girl, how are you? You seem a bit distracted…” Emma said, trying to get into her thoughts, 

“I’m fine, Emma! Really, I am! It’s just that I can’t be like them. Don’t take it the wrong way. I’m so grateful that they’re happy, but I have part of my heart here and the other part in Valentia. I’m worried about my parents. I have no way of contacting them, and I don’t know anything!”
