Serenity looked at the man, who noticed the young woman’s gaze and turned to look at the two women watching him intently. Not understanding their looks, he just smiled and went back to playing with the kids. 

The young woman blushed as she remembered how they had developed a nighttime routine since they arrived. They took advantage of the fact that Emma, Laura, and the kids would fall asleep to go for walks in the evenings For the first two or three days, they kept their distance, but then Alden began taking her hand. That simple gesture made Serenity feel more at ease, and little by little, she started to relax. Those two weeks had allowed them to get to know each other better, talking about their projects, dreams, and pasts. 

Alden was a young man who, although he had become a father at a young age, now dedicated almost all his time to his father’s company, which kept him from dating women As for Serenity, seeing the intentions of some of the boys who invited her out, she preferred to avoid them and focused on photography. If they both analyzed their lives, they weren’t so different. He had confessed to Serenity that if he hadn’t become a father so early, he would have loved to scale several peaks–Everest being his dream. But now, with a child and so much work, that idea had been discarded. 

That same night, they arrived at the agreed time and began walking along the island. Serenity watched him, and each day, something inside her grew. It was strange, as she had never felt this sensation before. 

“What are you looking at?” Alden said, glancing at the woman beside him. 

“Nothing!” Serenity responded, embarrassed. 

“Are you sure?” the young man said, raising an eyebrow. 

“Alden…” 

“Yes, tell me…” 

“What’s going on between us?” 

“How do you mean?” 

“Yes… What is it that we’re doing?” 

“Well… Right now, we’re walking along the beach…” 

“Alden!” 

The young man couldn’t help but laugh at the annoyed expression on Serenity’s face. 

“I’m being serious, Alden! And you’re just playing around. The young woman turned to head back. 

Alden, seeing this, firmly held Serenity’s hand and pulled her toward him. Her delicate body collided with his strong frame, and the scent of him filled her senses. He placed his hands on her waist and said: 

“We are whatever you want us to be… Right now, I see no one else. Here, nothing can stop us from being more. Tell me, what do you want me to be?” 

Serenity didn’t see that move coming, just like every time she was with him. She felt nervous and couldn’t act with the same clarity she had with others. 

“Serenity?” 

“Well… I hadn’t really thought about it…” she said, lowering her head. 

Alden gently lifted her chin, bringing her face up to meet his gaze. He looked at her with his deep brown eyes and

The girl froze, and the young man slowly leaned closer to her face, pressing his lips to hers. As soon as she felt it, Serenity’s stomach fluttered with butterflies, followed by a wave of heat when Alden pressed his body closer to hers. Slowly, the young man pulled back from the kiss and glaced his forehead against hers, saying: 

“I think now you know what I want from you, but I need to know… What do you want from me?”
