Chapter 0675
As soon as she caught the scent of his cologne–a mix of citrus and mint–she relaxed.
“You almost gave me a heart attack!” Serenity said, still shaken.
“Sorry, that wasn’t my intention! But I called out, and you didn’t hear me… Tonight, we’re going somewhere different. I’ve got something special planned. Did you eat?”
“Just a little salad… Honestly, I’m starving!”
“Perfect. You’re going to

love this.”
“The surprise! Oh, and by the way… You look stunning,” Alden said, giving her a soft kiss on the lips.
Every time Alden kissed her or touched her, Serenity felt the fine hairs on her body stand on end. That was the kind of magic he had over her.
Alden took her hand, leading her down a path they didn’t usually take. This time, he had something truly special in store for her.
“Where are we going, Alden?”
“It’s a surprise! You’ll see,” he said as they headed toward a pier that led to a secluded beach villa.
Serenity was surprised to see the area lit with candles. Petals of various flowers formed a path leading to a romantically decorated table.
“Alden…”
“Surprise! Happy one–month anniversary.”
Serenity swallowed hard. No one had ever done something like this for her. She had seen her father, Marcus, rack his brain every anniversary to surprise her mom, but this was the first time anyone had gone to such lengths for her.
“Do you like it?”
“I… I love it,” Serenity said, squeezing his hand.
Alden pulled her into his chest and gave her a passionate kiss.
“Come on, the food’s getting cold.”
Serenity felt her legs turn to jelly as they reached the small wooden terrace. There was a table set with an array of dishes.
hope you like it! I made everything myself. That’s why I didn’t make it to dinner earlier–I barely had time to rush home, take a quick shower, and meet you.”
“You…. did all this by yourself?”
“Yeah,” Alden said proudly. “I wasn’t sure about leaving it to the staff, so I figured I’d just handle it myself.”
“It’s beautiful… You really didn’t have to go to all this trouble.”
“It’s no trouble at all. I enjoyed doing it. Though I’ll admit, I think I should start cooking more often–feels like I’m getting out of practice.”
