Leonardo had been president of his company for four months, feeling like the master of everything around him. Yet, despite his success, something gnawed at him—a sense of incompleteness he couldn’t shake. He had worked tirelessly to reclaim everything he believed was rightfully his, but even with his achievements, satisfaction eluded him. 

Meanwhile, Frank Levett had become his right–hand man. Frank had discovered a meticulously structured plan written by someone named Alden Pietrovich. Though Leonardo didn’t know who Alden was, the plan’s details intrigued him. If implemented, it promised exponential growth for the company. 

This discovery sparked an idea in Leonardo’s mind. He saw an opportunity–not just to expand the company but to claim complete control over everything. Leonardo’s obsession with ensuring that Serenity Palmer was the one to give birth to the next Palmer heir persisted. The idea consumed him. He was determined to find her and her siblings, no matter how long it took. 

However, his fixation often led him to neglect important matters–like Frank’s shadowy past. Frank’s father had a notorious reputation as a conman. While this didn’t necessarily mean Frank was the same, Leonardo knew Frank had the skills to manipulate not only money but also power 

[In Leonardo’s Office] 

“Frank, I need you to sign some documents as soon as you have a moment,” Leonardo said, flipping through a file. 

“What are they?” 

“Just project authorizations. One of them caught my attention. Do you want to review it yourself?” 

“What’s it about?” 

“Do you know an Alden Pietrovich?” 

“No. Should I?” 

“Well, his plan is compelling. I think it could be a game changer for us. Take a look–it might be worth implementing.” 

“Does this Alden Pietrovich work here?” 

“I’ve tried to find his records. Some employees recall him working closely with Marcus and Matthew, but oddly, there’s no trace of him in our system–just like Marcus and Maximus’s files are missing.” 

“I’ll review the project you’re talking about. Leave the documents here–I’ll hold onto this one.” 

“Great. Let me know your thoughts. I think it has potential 

Frank nodded and shifted the conversation. “Speaking of Marcus Bartz–what’s your plan for him? You can’t keep paying to keep him locked up forever. These favors aren’t cheap.” 

“Let him rot in that damn prison. I’ve spent enough on ministers and government officials to block any appeals. He’s not going anywhere.” 

“You know Marcus is powerful. Are you sure you want to keep provoking him? This could backfire.” 

“I’ll deal with him when the time comes. For now, his imprisonment has been useful. It has kept Maximus occupied and ensured no one else dares challenge us.” 

Frank smirked. “I’ll admit, it’s been surprisingly quiet. I thought Maximus would put up more of a fight, but I’m shocked at how easily he handed over his shares.”

“Don’t get too comfortable,” Leonardo warned. 

“Maximus’s busy hiding Serenity from me. He’s not thinking about anything else,” Leonardo added with a sneer. 

“You should let it go. It’s been five months, and you’re still hung up on this absurd idea. Focus on Lucius instead.” 

Leonardo’s expression hardened. “That ungrateful brat learned everything from me and then disappeared. He’s worthless.” 

What Leonardo didn’t reveal was that Lucius was not just his protégé he was his biological son. And the methods he had used to conceive Lucius were something he intended to take to his grave. 

[At the Westhaven Police Station] 

An officer approached Marcus Bartz in his cell. “Mr. Bartz, I have important information for you. 

Marcus raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”

“We’ve been searching for a way to negotiate your release. It took time, but we found someone who might be useful.” 

“Who?” 

“Alexia Levett.” 

Marcus’s face darkened. “For God’s sake, she’s dead! That’s useless!”
