Frank leaned closer, his voice low and venomous. “By the way, I’ve figured out who Alden Pietrovich is. I did some digging. You were so worried about who would inherit your empire, so fixated on making a child with Maximus’s daughter. Well, surprise–you already have a grandson!” 

Leonardo’s eyes widened, confusion and suspicion swirling in his gaze. “What the hell are you talking about?” 

Frank pulled out a folder and handed it to Leonardo. “See for yourself.” 

Leonardo’s hands trembled as he flipped through the report. Each line confirmed Frank’s words: Alden Pietrovich was his grandson, Peter’s only child. Not only that, but Alden also had a son, Ethan Pietrovich, nearly six years old. The resemblance was uncanny. Alden’s features echoed Peter’s, though his skin was lighter and his eyes clearer. Even Ethan bore a striking resemblance to the Palmer lineage, a little gentleman in the making. 

“Where did you get this?” Leonardo asked, his voice barely above a whisper. 

“Remember when I mentioned the ‘Alden Pietrovich project‘? I’ve already set it in motion. And guess what? The company’s metrics show promising trends. That young man seems to have inherited his father’s sharp mind and instincts. It’s a shame you’re stuck here because you’ll never see it. As for his current whereabouts, I don’t know. But I’m sure Maximus does. He must’ve been the one to bring him into Palmer Group.” 

“What are you getting at?” 

“I want to meet your grandson. I plan to persuade him to work with me. I’ve already seen his name on several company documents, so he’s familiar with how things operate.” 

Leonardo narrowed his eyes. “What’s your angle, Frank?” 

“Let’s just say he’s a valuable asset to the company. I don’t see why the boy shouldn’t be the new CEO.” 

Leonardo scoffed. “You’ve seen that you can’t outright seize control of the company, haven’t you? And now, you think an adult grandson works in your favor. Am I right?” 

“Of course. You and I both orchestrated plenty of shady maneuvers to secure your hold over the group. But having a grandson makes things much easier. And because he’s so young, he’s bound to be… persuadable.” 

“And you think Maximus will just let you get close to him? 

“I don’t need Maximus’s permission. All I need is to find Alden. He’ll be tempted by the prospect of running the company. Imagine it: the young man at the helm of an empire, with me as his advisor. Who could resist that?” 

“You’re a damned fool!” Leonardo spat. “If you think Maximus will sit idly by, you don’t know him at all.”
