Chapter 0704
Then bring them back and talk to them. Tell them that whatever is going on, or whatever they want to happen, just can’t. They’ll have to understand that the circumstances are too complicated.”
“Before that, I need to make sure Leonardo is where this report says he is. I also need to clarify a few things with Frank Levett. He can’t just use my name for his schemes.”
“Be careful, Maximus. That man is dangerous.‘
“I know.”
[Palmer Group]
As if cursed, every mention of the Levett name inevitably brought the Palmer family into focus.
“Sir, I have the report from the investigation you requested a while back,” said one of Frank Levett’s informants.
“Alden Piętrovich?” Frank inquired, narrowing his eyes.
“That’s right, sir.”
“Who is he?”
“See for yourself,” the informant replied, handing him a folder.
Frank flipped through the pages, scanning the detailed information and accompanying photographs. It became apparent that whoever was in those images had used their wealth and influence to stay under the radar. But one thing was clear: the names Alden Pietrovich and Peter Palmer were inextricably linked.
“Alden Pietrovich is Peter Palmer’s son!”
“Exactly, sir. It seems the man fathered a child out there. Honestly, given Peter’s past, I’m surprised he doesn’t have more illegitimate children. Besides Alden, there‘
child–apparently Alden’s son. His name is Ethan
Pietrovich, and he’s almost six years old.”
“Where are they now?”
“We couldn’t track their exact location. Someone very high up is hiding them. It’s taken considerable effort just to uncover this much.”
“Who could it be? Maximus? If that Alden Pietrovich was here, it means Maximus knew about him. He must be hiding something.”
“One more thing, sir. Leonardo Palmer has been attempting to secure a legal appeal, and it’s likely he’ll get it due to his advanced age. From what my sources tell me, his time in prison hasn’t been easy. Marcus Bartz, it seems, left very specific instructions for him to receive ‘special treatment.“”
“I think it’s time I paid my dear colleague and friend a visit.”
“Are you sure that’s wise?”
“Yes! I haven’t visited him since I sent him to prison. It’s time to remind him of a few important points–and what could happen if he runs his mouth.”
That same afternoon, Frank Levett arrived at the prison where Leonardo was being held.
Frank’s reputation preceded him, and the staff granted him all the access he needed, including an unsanctioned

visit.
“Palmer, someone’s here to see you.”
“Who is it? My lawyer?”
“Go find out for yourself. I’m not your messenger.‘
Leonardo sat up slowly. His body was battered, covered in bruises and small scars. Most of the damage was in places that wouldn’t be immediately visible–evidence of the “special treatment” he was receiving, courtesy of
Marcus Bartz.
