Chapter 0733
Minutes later, Maximus arrived at the Palmer Group offices. He had no trouble getting inside; Frank was already waiting for him.
“Maximus… What a pleasant surprise! You’ve graced me with your presence twice in one day!”
“Cut the crap and bring the kids,” Maximus demanded.
“Mmm… Change of plans. Your children haven’t arrived yet but you can still sign the deal.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? You had this all planned out, didn’t you?”
“Maximus, you know I’m a businessman. Your kids are alive–they’re worth more to me alive than dead. But they aren’t here yet.”
“You!
bastard! You’re just wasting my time. Tell me, where the hell are they?”
“Maximus, sign the damn document, and they’ll be home by sunrise.”
“Frank, do you think I’m stupid?”
As the two argued, Frank’s phone began to ring. He pulled it out and answered.
“Why am I not surprised you’d pull something like this?” Marcus’s serious voice cut through the conversation. He was watching them from a distance.
“Marcus?”
“That’s right. Now tell me, where the hell are my son and the other kids?”
“Oh, Marcus! You don’t know me very well, do you?”
“No… of course I do. I know your whole damn family, which is why I took a few precautions. Haven’t you sent anyone to check on your wife yet? A beautiful woman, by the way, though not very useful.”
“What the hell are you talking about, Marcus?”
“I’ll give you an hour to think things over. If you don’t, I’ll move on to someone else you care about. And trust me, If you thought what I did to your wife was extreme, the next one will be even worse.”
Marcus hung up and immediately sent Frank a video he had recorded of his wife.
Frank’s phone buzzed with a message. He opened it, and the agonized screams of his wife filled the office. His eyes widened in horror, his pupils almost bulging out of their sockets. The video lasted about 20 minutes, showing everything.
Maximus, standing nearby, could hear Marcus’s voice in the recording and the bloodcurdling screams of Frank’s wife, who until recently had been his mother–in–law.
Maximus’s thoughts raced–Marcus had clearly lost his mind. The man was a monster.
The sound of a gunshot snapped them out of their shock. Frank hurled his phone against the wall.
The office phone rang. Frank walked toward it, his hands and chin trembling. When he picked it up, the voice on the other end left no doubt–they were being watched. Marcus was close, and any false move would not go unnoticed.
“What the hell have you done to my wife?” Frank asked, his voice trembling with a mix of rage and despair.

“I want my son back! If you don’t make it happen, the one to suffer next will be your damn daughter!” Marcus’s voice was firm, unyielding
“Marcus, you’ve gone insane. The one who should’ve been locked up is you, not Peter. My daughter died months ago didn’t you know?”
“Frank,” Marcus replied coldly,
“I suggest you check your email since you decided to destroy your phone. If I were you, I wouldn’t feel so calm. One call from me,
The call from me, and your daughter’s life will truly become hell. It’s up to you…”
“Your daughter, for my son and the

er two kids. You know I’m not bluffing. You have one hour to decide.
With that, Marcus ended the call. He was nearby, watching Frank’s every move. Frank immediately rushed to his computer. When he opened his email, a series of photos appeared on the screen. The woman strapped to a hospital bed was none other than his daughter, Alexia Levect!
“You’re a bastard, Maximus! You told us she was dead!” Frank shouted angrily.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Maximus asked, clearly confused.
Frank spun the computer monitor around, and Maximus saw the images of Alexia and Lucius in a hospital bed.
“Marcus has her, and if he did that to my wife, he’ll do the same to her. Doesn’t it bother you at all what’s happening to your wife?” Frank demanded.
“Frank, do you not remember you’ve kidnapped my son? Obviously, if you kick a hornet’s nest, you’re going to get stung. Marcus isn’t the kind of man you want to mess with. He’s completely unhinged. Do what he says, or I guarantee you’ll never see your wife or anyone else he’s holding–alive again.”
“This was your plan all along, wasn’t it?” Frank accused.
“What are you talking about?”
“You wanted me to believe you’d hand over the company just to distract me!”
“What the hell are you saying? I came here in good faith–because of all the years we’ve been family, and because Alexia was your daughter.”
“Don’t pretend! You knew my daughter was alive, didn’t you?”
