Maximus was at the police station when Magnus Evans arrived. The man walked in, and many people there recognized him. Apparently, he wasn’t invisible to the eyes of the police. This man had more power than the Palmer family, although he kept himself completely secretive in Germany. 

Magnus had learned about the situation with Peter, so he lew he’d be needed. When he arrived, he was granted access to the room where Maximus was. Upon seeing him, Maximus was greatly surprised. 

“I told you it was important that you change your last name” 

“That’s in process… 

“Where is Peter?” 

“I don’t know…” 

“Maximus! You need to tell me where Peter is, or you’ll get caught up in all of this.” 

“I don’t know where Peter is! I don’t know what’s going on This afternoon, Marcus Bartz called me, threatening me, and then the police came to my house. No one is telling me why I’ve been detained. I’ve already told them everything I know.” 

Magnus looked at his son and knew he had no idea what was being said outside of this place. 

“Did you know Alexia Levett is alive?” 

“What the hell are you talking about?” 

“A report just came out and has been distributed throughout the city. Your wife is still alive, and Frank Levett is looking for her.” 

“No, I didn’t know…” Maximus lied. 

The man knew clearly that he couldn’t say anything about her. If he did, not only would he be in danger, but so would his brother. 

“Maximus, I’ll see what I can do to get you out of here, son, but you need to cooperate with the police. Your brother has several pending issues.” 

“I already told you, I don’t know where Peter is…” 

Magnus left the room and spoke with the commissioner. It was evident that there was no evidence to hold Maximus any longer. After a few minutes, Maximus saw how officers came in and let him out of the room. 

At the exit, Diana was waiting for him, carrying a coat, with Lucia looking very frightened. 

“Diana… my love, I’m fine! Calm down!” 

“Maximus, I thought they were going to keep you there for a long time…” 

“Calm down! I’m out…” Maximus said, noticing Magnus near the door. “I want you to meet someone.” 

“Yes, but let’s leave. It’s going to be a mess if we go out the front, there are too many journalists and reporters.” 

“Maximus, come with me…” Magnus said, pointing to a hallway. 

“Magnus… this is Diana Mendez, my current partner,” Maximus said, hugging Diana. “Diana, this is Magnus Evans, my real father, whom I’ve spoken about on several occasions.”

was stunned. The man looked very much like Maximis, just a bit older. 

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Evans,” Diana sald timidly. 

“Likewise, Diana. I’m sorry to meet you under such terrible circumstances,” Magnus said as he opened the door to a black SUV. 

“How is it that you have so much influence in Valentia?” 

“Maximus, I’ve told you for a long time that I’ve worked hard for everything I have, and if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that it’s always good to have connections in the government.” 

“The Palmer family had those, but with my father’s, I mean Leonardo’s, moves, several concessions were lost.” 

“I know, Maximus! Now, I can’t take you back to your girlfriend’s house, it’s probably surrounded and being investigated. Believe me, they’re looking for your brother everywhere, and from what I understand, Moriarty isn’t going to lift a finger to defend him.” 

“So, where are we going?” 

“I’ll take you to my house…”
