“That would be terrible!” Mary gasped, placing a hand over her mouth in shock.

“Well, if you wanted revenge, now you must understand that your husband is not someone to mess with. He has a past, one he shares with my brother. It’s all come to light. The police are looking for Peter…” Maximus said, looking her straight in the eyes. 

“Mary, when you lived with Peter at 18, did you ever notice anything strange in his routine?” 

“No! He was always good to me…” 

“I don’t mean that. What did he tell you he worked as?” 

“Peter was a stockbroker. That’s what he did for a living.”
