Three months had passed since they arrived in the Emirates. Alden traced gentle circles over Serenity’s bare stomach, his touch slow and reverent. Ever since he had returned with the kids, neither of them had seen the point in pretending anymore. They stopped hiding their relationship and began showing themselves together in public. 

At first, Ethan struggled with the change, but over time, Serenity made an effort to bond with him. Little by little, he started to accept the idea that she would be his new mom. 

“Serenity…” 

“What is it?” 

“I saw the news from Valentia. Frank Levett was arrested today. I called Maximus, and he confirmed it. But that’s not all.” 

“What else?” 

“Leonardo Palmer is also behind bars. It’s only a matter of days before they ask us to return…” 

Serenity placed a hand over her belly, her expression tense. “Alden…” 

“I know we won’t be able to hide the baby much longer. But I’m worried–about your father’s reaction, about my parents…‘ 

“What do you want to do?”

“Then let’s get married!” Alden blurted out without a second thought. 

Serenity’s eyes widened. “What?”

“Yes, Serenity! If we get married here, then when we go back to Valentia, no one–no one–will be able to separate us. We’ll be legally bound.” 

He leaned in, their faces inches apart, his gaze locked onto hers. 

“God… You have no idea what a sight you’re giving me right now. I don’t know if it’s the pregnancy or what, but you look absolutely breathtaking.” His voice was husky as he moved closer, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. 

“Alden, I haven’t done anything different. Are you trying to seduce me into a secret wedding?” 

“I’m not trying to convince you…. I’m just completely obsessed with you. Your face, your body–you. Every inch of you drives me insane. Your scent, your touch, the way you move… I never thought I could feel this way about anyone, but you–you are that person. I don’t want to lose this, not for anything. That’s why I want you to marry me.” 

Serenity stared at him for a few seconds before finally speaking. 

“I accept! Yes, let’s get married… This isn’t how I ever imagined it happening–in fact, I never imagined it happening at all. But I want this, Alden. I want to marry you” 

Alden didn’t wait another second. He kissed her with a hunger that only deepened as the seconds passed. His hands explored the warmth of her bare skin, and his lips moved over hers as if she were the only thing that cou quench his thirst. Slowly, he guided her legs apart and made love to her, showing her through every touch
