vincent and Marcus stood in front of Valentina and little Peter’s grave. The afternoon was cold, and both carried flowers, staring somberly at the aged plaque worn down by fime. Neither of them spoke, lost in their thoughts, each battling the storm of emotions inside them. A single tear rolled down Marcus’s cheek as a painful memory from his past surfaced, making it impossible for him to speak. 

“Marcus Bartz… you’re free now! Stop carrying that heavy burden on your back. Justice has been served for our Valentina. Your son has received justice too. Your family has been avenged.” 

Marcus turned to look at the man beside him. Despite his age, Vincent still looked young. The only signs of aging were the lines on his face. His posture was calm yet firm. The reckless brother of the past had become a pillar of serenity, living each day by his beliefs. Now, he lived for his son, his granddaughter, his daughter–in–law- finally, he lived for his family. 

“I know this isn’t the revenge you wanted, but Peter wanted you to stop getting your hands dirty–especially since you had taken on the role of father to his daughter. He didn’t want you making a mistake that would land you in prison, leaving Serenity and Mary alone. I wanted justice for my sister and my nephew. Magnus wanted justice for Martina and her son. We all wanted different things, but in the end, we achieved the same goal.” 

“It’s hard for me to believe what just happened…! 

“Karma, Marcus. Karma. People say it takes time to come around, and yeah, I had to wait twenty years. But we did it. My sister was a Bartz, and now, with pride, that horrible massacre exposes what a man without morals is capable of. Your family will now be honored. Your last name will no longer be a symbol of terror but of what justice can accomplish.” 

“What’s going to happen to Frank Levett Sr.? He was the one who should have gone to prison, not his son…” 

“Well, Frank Levett Jr. wasn’t exactly a saint. His father’s dirty business could’ve ended when he disappeared— but it didn’t. He carried on his father’s legacy, and now he has to face the consequences of his actions. He’ll spend the rest of his life alongside Leonardo Palmer–another one who ended up caught in the mess.” 

“And Alexia Levett?” 

“Alexia… well, she’s a different story. Poor woman and her bad decisions… Her grandfather always made her believe she was the chosen one, the number one, the favorite granddaughter. But as you saw for yourself, Frank Levett only wanted her for her looks. 

“That poor woman is going to suffer the same fate as her grandfather–exile. Lucius wants to take care of her. Maximus is giving her a lifelong pension. I’m sure he’ll keep doing so until fate takes her. Honestly, I don’t think there’s a worse punishment than living like that.” 

“You think that’s punishment enough for her?” 

“Of course! What’s worse than watching life pass you by and not being able to do a thing about it? I feel bad for the boy, though. He’s determined to stay by her side. I guess that’s just a son’s love for his mother.” 

“I never imagined that side of Lucius. When I met him years ago, the bastard made me lose millions out of sheer pride and stupidity.” 

“He was young and immature! We all are at some point in our lives. He’s only twenty–one. I was thirty–eight, and it wasn’t until Valentina’s death that I got my act together. My real wake–up call was watching my father slip away. He suffered so much after we lost her,” Vincent said, his voice thick with emotion. 

“What will you do now?” 

“I’ll stay with my family. I live and die for them. I’ll be here, standing by my son for as long as I have strength and
